All enemy projectiles disappear when kotals disc krushing blow connects 1st.Yesterday, I found this nice tidbit against Sub-Zero:
At the start of a new round where you and Sub are fullscreen distance away, if Kotal goes for disk and Sub goes for iceball, disk will reach Sub just a few frames before iceball reaches Kotal (which would be a bad trade for Kotal), but if you Krushing Blow the disk, you do 250 dmg and iceball is negated
You’re right, it just so happens that the startup and speed of ice ball makes this trade just perfectAll enemy projectiles disappear when kotals disc krushing blow connects 1st.
Do you not take the exact same damage that the sunlight heals vs cassie? Assuming 6% + 3% total chip, you only gain 1%, basically only worth it on the lifelead which they'll chase you anyway for.It depends on he zoning and what other tools they have, but for like Cassie digital soldier it's really good.
Sunlight nullifies any long range game and let's you relax at that distance instead of trying to rush in too much. Because her punish is to gunshot you, but your sunlight outheals it. So she has to walk forward and you can meet her halfway. Also you can just empty jump a lot vs her and react pounce in air to gun shots. This forces her to burn meter more careful to cover that option.
Against noob though, his projectiles do 90 damage so you get little to no value from trading with it. And you can't just do it raw because he can tele punish you.
It's very matchup specific but if they have only high projectiles and no heavy teleport punish it's quite good.
Chip can be minimized/avoided with parry (and jump reads, of course)Do you not take the exact same damage that the sunlight heals vs cassie? Assuming 6% + 3% total chip, you only gain 1%, basically only worth it on the lifelead which they'll chase you anyway for.
The biggest gain is that she doesn't gain. Whereas if you are ascension you will have to actively get in on her avoiding any chip at all. Tie this in with possible jump dives and you make them second guess their zoning strategy. Zero sum is basically > than taking chip.Do you not take the exact same damage that the sunlight heals vs cassie? Actually would the go to option to zoning play styles just be to work on Kotal’s wave dashing? Is there a difference in approach variation wise? As in totemic vs ascension? How would you play the Shang MU? I imagine you can’t counterzone at all with disk and the KB only has one use in the game.
You'd work on learning how to wavedash fast anyway, it's required to play the character and I'd even go as far as to say that if you can't wavedash fast you're not playing him optimally at all, which for a bottom tier is very bad.Actually would the go to option to zoning play styles just be to work on Kotal’s wave dashing? Do they have to be instant? I find it hard to jump projectiles in reaction with Kotal’s huge bodyJ1 and J2 to get over high projectiles
