How're you guys utilizing orbs? Zoning? Pressure? Set up into pressure on oki?

What's an ideal way to set up orb for pressure on oki? Ending in LMH for the hkd?

So I've just started on Beerus this evening and so far he is completely different to what I've played so far.

His jump normals don't allow for the usual three hits after every cancel (yuck) and his 2H is a wall bounce (yuckier). This alone makes him incredibly awkward to just pick up like some of the others.

His orbs are great fun to push around though!

I'm assuming the game plan is to just shove the opponent into the corner and proceed to set up orbs to break open their defence?

A HKD is then imperative to his game and yet his j2H doesn't allow for a HKD, you have to launch the with 2H from the ground to get a HKD from a jH. Seems kind of backwards but I'm game for trying to figure him out

Yeah that's pretty much my approach atm. I've got him on point and you can get full corner carry midscreen using an assist.

Most seem to be ending in his QCBL/M in the corner which I'm assuming allows you to get an orb out safely.

Yeah his dive is good for that, if it actually connects!

I've been watching some sonic fox. He tends to switch Beerus in mid-combo, I'm assuming because he can then end with a HKD given that his previous character (Buu or 18) can 2H launch as normal. You've then got plenty of time to play with the orbs.

I'm still trying to form some bnb's for Beerus at the moment but then I can move onto the dirty stuff.

Been playing with a some corner block strings.

If you end with 236M, you can land a falling L or IAD>H afterwards and continue your pressure. There are gaps in 236M; when Beerus initiates the jump and after he's kicked the ball

If you do 236L instead there are no gaps but there is no jump so it will end your block pressure.

#mindgames

EDIT: it seems the timing on L after 236M is character dependent. Due to size difference, the second part of the animation will not hit on characters such as A.Gohan and Goku because to their low sitting neutral stance. That's annoying.

Been playing around Beerus's low profile (2M), and found this combo. Dunno if it's known. I found it a good challenge to NOT start with L attacks, Vanish and any shit that scales it.

It's one with Hit and Piccolo assists. Piccolo will be for corner carry, while Hit and Piccolo will switch and corner carry to the other side.

Inputs:

2M>5M>JC>5M>2H>5H>5M>214H>236R1> R1> Hit> Piccolo. 61% (6107).

If you add only Piccolo, it'll do around a 5600 damage with corner carry.

What's up folks. These are my BnB's with the God of Destruction. Notations are included as always, Super meter is at 1 to show meter gain and I don't use assists to leave room for experiments with your own personal teams. Hope this helps anyone who's been looking for more combos with notations, etc or maybe helps spark an idea for something new. Have fun!

Just a tip for the 236S. It's unsafe, and I don't think that it'll ever be doable in battle, as they'll react with a zoning power.

I'm aware that it has some startup frames and you can't just use it at every single moment, but if you are aggressive and/or quick enough with the orbs, then they are really great. These setups aren't meant to be done in the neutral, but only after a Knockdown, just like you are supposed to do in the corner like the video Sonic Fox showed on Twitter.

Then you need Beerus's HKD (214H) and an assist with a slow projectile, like Piccolo, to buy time for the orbs to come out by the time the AI wakes up.

Well Piccolo is on Team so it shouldn't be a problem at all. I can also use the combo of 2M,2H,H,L,L,L,L, that is also an HKD.

Found some possible stuff that buy some time with summoning the 6 orbs. Even certain assists help with that.

Edit: Found that if I summon Piccolo assist, while I do the 2H, it gives some time to do the 6 orbs, while the assisted orb chases the AI for protection. This shadows the summoning, so I believe nobody might know this, unless they try to vanish or superdash.

I might have found a sick combo. 86%, but I'm trying to optimize it to reach the 100%. I'm one step closer to reach this combo. Any idea is welcomed.

For some reason, I can't SD after the Vanish. Instead, I used 214M. The rest is known.

Inputs here:

2M, 5M> JC> J.5M, J.5LL, J.2H> SD> J.5M, J.5L> JC> J.5L, J.5M, J.2H> 214M> Vanish> 214M> 236R1> R1> Piccolo> HCB Hit.

edit: I'll try the 214M into Sparking next moment I wake up. It's 6:45am here. lmao
