Basic attacks & Special moves

Is there anyone who uses the analog stick for both basic attacks and special moves ? I find it easier and safer to use your arrows for special moves and the analog stick for basic attacks.

Hmmm, not sure what you mean by basic? You mean like the command normals: B+BP, F+BK, B+FK, stuff like that.

In my opinion using your setup seems really difficult. You have to re-finger between each command normal and each special move. And do you ever get confused?

Also, could you state which pad your using.

As for playing entirely on the analog stick, I suppose its possible, as it would be like the stick on an arcade stick. MK9 doesn't require diagonals, so pressing the direction buttons is much easier.

Only time I use it is for jumping forward or backward. Dunno why, but just works better for me to flick it with my thumb than to mash f+u or b+u. My two cents.

i have 360 so its pretty much impossible to use the analog stick at all on fighting games. that being said the dpad isn't much better.
