Basically from what I'm noticing here is that back dashing is really expensive because one backdash and you get caught you can no longer break any combo. And you can only backdash twice in succession while you can run and many characters cover far more ground while also having extremely fast start up if any and can be insta cancelled. This game is clearly putting a bias towards forward movement but it seems more than just a bias, like a pogrom against moving backer's. You notice so many people in tournament are back jumping because dashing just kinda smells.

The invincibility frames don't seem to be very good and while every character has different frame data for their shit they all seem lacking to Injustice's back dashes. Many string in this game are very forward advancing to catch you midscreen and the corner carry is so strong the back dashes are irrelevant in a large part in some of these matches. People keep making threads about one bar block breakers so I want to ask this too because even if we do get that what are our options when we're on hard economic times?

So do you think back dashes as they stand are worth it for half your stamina?

The current system is fine. Its a crucial part of how this game plays.

You're bringing this up like it's a casual thing but changing the back dash system would completely flip the game in a radical way. 1/4th for a backdash might as well make backdashes free because everyone would get 4 before they have to stop.

Well yeah, I did the math for that and it was kinda hard for me but four backdashes vs ussain bolt runs seemed even in my head. One backdashes already makes it so you can't break, so even if you get caught on the first one with like an advancing starter you're going for a ride.

move invincibility frames would be good alright, dont really mind the current stamina cost of 1/2

No, they suck. Make them more invincible.

The system is only fine for rushdown fools.

Keep the i-frames the same but I would like them to recover faster, off the top of my head I can't think of a string that when back dashed actually gets you a punish.

Perhaps not a punish, since the animation takes a while, but it can often get you out of harm's way and let you regroup.

I think they're fine as-is. However, I would like forward dashes to be cancelable. That has been really hard to get used to.

Backdashes dont suck but they arent great either. The invincibility only works if the move you are backdashing whiffs against the backdash, giving it more invincibility would make it so that if you backdashed something you would probably not be hit out of it. It would give characters a better wakeup option as well.

I voted for them to cost no stamina but I highly doubt that is going to happen. It'd be awesome if it did though.
