Question B22 Range nerf?

I'm seeing a noticable difference in the range at which Harley's b22 hits on opponents now. It doesn't reach out any further than her standing 1. It seems the changes in the patch were not a fix for floating characters but an overall nerf for it's distance to match the range that it previously hit floating characters.

Is this a bug? Did my patch not fully download? Something with training mode? Please tell me this isn't true. It would mean it's no longer a very viable punish since standing 1 is much faster.

Edit: Videos showing the reduced range are down the page a bit. There's definitely a difference.

Hmmmm that will indeed suck if this is true i havent try the patch yet so cant really say but the way they made it sound in the notes I dont think they mess with the range prob the height of the first hit.

Didn't NRS claim the range was INCREASED on b+2,2??? And you're telling me it's decreased? That would be fucked.

I'm not familar with Harley and how b2 was before, but I just went through and tested b2 against a bunch of characters(including floaty ones like Supes, WW, and Raven who I know give Ares similar hitbox problems) and her b2 seems to consistently have slightly better range than her 1. I wasn't able to find any range against any character in which 1 hit and b2 whiffed, b2 always has better range

I also noticed that her 1 has better range than it looks and maybe a phantom hitbox


Edit: b2 definitely connects sometimes even when visually it doesn't appear to be hitting the character, I presume that's from the buff

I has notice a slight range decrease. I used to be able to take a step at the start of a match and b2 and now I can't.

Yeah testing it some more there are some instances where b2 hits but s1 doesn't, however it is a very small distance, almost negligible. I suppose if you have room for a 12 frame punish then b22 is still the go-to punish. However it's going to be harder to punish things like dashes and whiffed jump-in's since Harley needs to be so closer to do so.

It seems overall that Harley needs to take a full step forward in order to make up the difference in distance of pre-patch and current. The hitbox is definitely raised up, it acts the same on every character floating or not, but is also moved toward Harley more. If I had a method of recording video I'd try to compare some footage.

I dunno, I'm still able to trip guard normally. What situations are you seeing that the b2 has less range?

Nothing in particular aside from at neutral. I go to practice mode a lot and I noticed something off about it when I went in today. So I started comparing it to her other strings, and you need to be very close to use it, almost standing one range. I feel confident enough in my spacing with her to say that it doesn't reach as far as it used to, like the hitbox adjustment changed it's horizontal range.

I'm going to go delete the patch and attempt to compare it for certain.

It really doesn't feel nerfed to me. If it is, it's very slightly.

I have confirmed there is a difference, and have (terrible) video evidence incoming.

So here's the video. Instead of walking forward from neutral, in case it wasn't the same both times, I used f1 which moves Harley forward a bit.

Here it is before the patch. As you can see after using f1 to close the gap from neutral, b2 hits the Joker.


And here's after. Joker is not hit after f1 then b22.

Oh, just to clarify this was against Superman when I tested. It seems that standing 1 range is nearly the same as b22 range against floaters but not standing characters, where the difference is greater. So that's just peachy, the problem hasn't even been fixed, b22 is still less effective against floaters compared to standers but is also now less effective against standing characters than it used to be.

I want old b22 back. If I can't punish floaters outside standing 1 range with b22 there was no point in changing it at all unless to nerf it.

Oh wow, that does say something about that.. Im a little angry about it though. It just means we have to get closer to get that hit..
 
I wonder if they did a difference video like they did for a lot of the other changes. Makes me a little curious why they skipped over Harley on the NRS stream #conspiracy
