As you may have seen in the forum, Speed Demos Archive (SDA) held a 6 day long (live speedrunning marathon) charity event this last week to help raise money for The Prevent Cancer Foundation. It was a tremendous success, so much so that they raised nearly three times what they had initially set their donation goal to ($50,000, approximately what they raised the previous year). In fact, including on-site donations, they raised $145,273.50, donated by 3,139 generous people! This brings the total SDA has raised over the course of their charity marathons to over $250,000. Heh, and some people say nothing good could come from gaming.

If you missed some games that you wanted to see run, SDA will be encoding the footage from the marathon, uploading it to their website (www.speeddemosarchive.com), have it organized by each game, and have each individual run downloadable in the coming month; it'll be on the front page in the news. Along with those will . Until then, you can always check out the Twitch archive at http://www.twitch.tv/speeddemosarchivesda/videos started from the 4th of January. Here again is the schedule to help you find whatever game you are looking for http://speeddemosarchive.com/marathon/schedule/ Along with the encoded videos, they will also release 2 bonus videos compiling the highlights (clutch, awesome, or amusing moments) and bloopers (mistakes and unlucky moments) similar to these videos from the previous year: http://youtu.be/1awnOnzDzFA (highlights) and http://youtu.be/zGerVGjcgPU (bloopers)

Shoutouts to Arturo Sanchez for dropping by (if that really was you) and anyone from TYM who was able to come check out the stream, and thanks to whoever donated (including a certain Justin Wong), your contributions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks to Microsoft, the only company that got back to SDA about donating items to give away as prizes to randomly chosen donors.
Thanks to Subway for providing free food for the latter half of the marathon. Subway® — eat fresh. (haha)
A special thanks to everyone at SDA, especially Mike Uyama, for organizing this event and running those games (108 games in fact).
