General/Other - Hat Trick Alternative way of fixing HCB Random launching proprieties

A few months ago, UsedForGlue voiced his opinion that converting off launching HCBs was dificult in some cases to convert damage from HCBs, later on the juggle bug was found, and ever since it was addressed, NRS or either failed to fix it, or due the way the game was built it probably can't be fixed.

Since one of the main problems of HCB is that people doesn't care if gets hit by them due the juggle inconsistency, might as well just accept Glue's advice and give HCB a hit animation/stun propriety similar to how Hatarang hits on the way back when opponents are grounded, provided that the ex version should give a longer hit stun than the regular one, probably around what ex Hat gives.

That's if NRS can't fix the general juggle issue he is currently facing among other characters, and if we are getting more patches after or before evo.

Just reading back through this.

The solution with this is only to constantly adapt on the fly, if you are in the corner, you need to use a standing 1 stagger after a MB call back incase the opponent lets go of block, and only use B3 once you call the hat back on a punish or a hit confirm.

Other than that, you have to always be prepared for the opponent to not block the MB call back.

Sucks, but it will never be addressed because it isn't a main stream enough variation to worry about for NRS. Its there to make up the numbers.

The main issue that needs to be address is this:

MB Hat call back needs to armoured, and it needs to stay travelling back once kung lao takes a hit.
There should also be other distances that he can throw it, short, medium, far.
And lastly, he needs at least one plus string cancelled into hat toss, same as Ronin, considering its the exact same archetypal variation design.

Those are not buffs, those are fixes.

Completely agree, may sound weird but if NRS is not going to give him better plus strings canceled into Hat Traps, having armor on HCB would cover for that and would actually give him a better pressure game without the need of being plus at every string.

There is also the factor of HCB being -7, lowering to -6 would make it safer, right now its hilarious fighting tempest, he can just reversal and punish any hcb at close quarters every single time he has meter, and everyone with a 6f d1 can punish it.

About that HCB being -7 is crazy. The Tempest struggle is insane. Besides anyone who has slightest idea how those trap works will almost poke out at every attempt. But hey, Evo is close, let's keep our hopes.
