Video/Tutorial 3,1 has different properties in the corner.

So I created a little video here. Show casing Ermac, his 3,1 blockstring and the properties it has in the corner compared to that of mid-screen. It will hit some characters ONLY in the corner on crouch block. I have created some lists, so you can compare who it works on and where it works on them.

Sheeva is stupid.

***Exceptions***
Sheeva is the only character in the cast who can avoid 3,1 in the corner but midscreen it always hits. Wtf is this?!?!?!?!?


Sry about the random blurriness every now and then.
For the most part the screen is very clear and visible when I do this.

I would normally highly praise any new MK information, but then I remember looking at the Kabal MU chart... realizing what i'm actually supporting.

I hope Ermac gets to be the focus of an MK game one day.

If Baraka and Mileena got to be the poster children for Deception, it's only fair...

This happens because of the 3D collision that this game uses.

Performing Ermac's 3,1 will move Ermac forward as a part of the animation. As a result, Scorpions character model comes into contact with Ermac and is pushed away slightly, causing the punch part of the string to whiff due to being Scorpion now being slightly out of range.

Since Scorpion's back is against the end of the stage, his character model is practically boxed in with Ermac's which allows for the punch to connect.

Ermac kabal is not that bad. Don't look at match up charts and don't listen to 97.35% of the people on this site.

If you do what I do and figure the game out, you find ways to win.

Haven't played MK in a while, but definitely this, much rather face a Kabal than Kenshi or Freddy as Ermac.

Freddy really isn't all that bad either. There are a lot of his wake ups that you ca straight up lift. Kind of like Mileena/sektor. So you can always threaten freddy with that. Once they respect this option, you can pressure his wake ups all you want. As for kenshi, stay at a range where normal shoulder whiffs and this match up is not as bad as you think. I personally would rather all three of the mentioned characters over a cage any day

zaf Good shit man, its been a while since i played MK seriously but i will definitly give this list a look when I start playing more again.
