I love KH. No real theories for KH3 though with the info on it so limited at this point. But, really looking forward to 2.8 because I have yet to play Dream Drop Distance!

From what I hear, we're supposed to get new KH3 info after 2.8's release.

2.8 is gonna be great! Also the new bundle that is coming out for 2.5 and 1.5 for the ps4 and xbox. But I mean Theres so much discussion we could have about 3 for example whos gonna be the keepers of light and darkness because no one is really confirmed yet.

Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories is one of my favorite games of all time because the combat in that game was incredibly good. Building your deck felt great and there was incredible potential for creative setups. Also the fact that there was a second story was amazing, would've been DLC these days. The plot was okay, a bit too kid-like for me with how much it focuses on the power of friendship and how memories apparently define you or what have you. Still, the villains had pretty good designs and were a blast to fight.

Besides that I also played Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days, which was a mixed bag. The plot was bad up until the last 30-60 minutes where stuff finally started happening. Combat was also a mixed bag. I had to force myself to use a weapon where you had to delay your combo because otherwise I would've been spamming the Y button for the entire game. There were some good worlds, some bad ones; some good boss fights, some bad ones. Oh and the final boss was kinda whack.

In general. Don't get me wrong though, if you like the story of the KH games, more power to you! For me though, the games focus a bit too much on friendship for my liking. I prefer darker stories myself. KH can get sad at times sure (end of 358/2 days), but still stays relatively...kid-like in its tone (not trying to judge anyone, but I don't know how else to describe it).

I mean its far from a kids game though, it deals with many dark subjects. I want to see a child beat the game, I mean I played the first game when I was like 5 and I couldn't even get off the island, I didn't know what to do. The looks of it might be childish but games like birth by sleep prove otherwise, with xehanort and the keepers of darkness and how it touches on subjects like loss and sorrow. But I see what you're saying, it does have a "cover" of a children's game but when you get into it and understand what is going on then you start to realize how good this game is if you open your mind up :)

I never felt like KH was a kids game. Especially once Nobodies are introduced, it actually becomes more of a really depressing story.

And damn, when Goofy "died" in the 2nd game, the feels were real.

(Chain of Memories spoilers btw)

For real though, I didn't mean to call KH kids games, I meant to say that in terms of story, things sometimes focused a bit much on "I'm doing this because you're my friend!" type of stuff. Certainly not all the time don't get me wrong, but in Chain of Memories Sora became friends with Naminé because he just felt like she was her friend or something? I get that it was because of the false memories and whatnot but for him to hold on to those things and the way the game talks about memories was just... It wasn't my taste really.

There's plenty of good in the games though don't get me wrong. The music for one is reaaaally good. The games also look quite pretty, though it could do with less recycling the Disney worlds in the games. Combat animations are also quite good.

Friendship is definitely a huge thing in KH series. Have you played the 2nd game though? Story is a lot more serious than the first and COM. Might be more your thing.

Only Chain of Memories and 358/2 days. Never played KH2 because I don't have the right console for it and my friend said it had quite a long tutorial to it that discouraged him from playing further. I understand what he means cause 358/2 days suffers from that issue as well.

lol Yep. The 6 hour tutorial. It's mildly entertaining and somewhat necessary for the story but yeah, it does drag on unfortunately.

To get this thread back on a more positive note, I really, really, like the concept of the Nobodies (the Organisation specifically). It creates:

1. A badass group of powerful bosses that all have a uniqueness to them.

2. A cool personal element in situations where a character meets their respective Nobody.

3. An interesting side-effect to losing oneself to the Darkness.

I generally have a soft spot for antagonist-groups and characters that are sort of a reflection of another character. The Organization supplies both.

XD its cool, I wasnt mad at you or anything, But completely I feel the same way. Nobodies are way cooler than heartless because they are kinda like the bodies of their past selves and there is a chance they can be restored if their heartless and nobody is restored kinda like how axel turned back into lee. Then now he is his owns self again

Its like they have their own personality but they dont have feelings and that's just the coolest thing in a person and it adds so much uniqueness to the story.

But seriously tho they are over dragging the whole xehanort era. Legit like every final boss has been a part of him and im happy they are finally ending that in kh3. Hes a great antagonist but its been like 14 years of the same boss

Just a daily reminder that they took too long before releasing KH3 milked the franchise dried and made the story over complicated and trash. Also the jokes aren't funny but they all laugh anyway like in a cartoon for 5-10.
