Discussion Who Got Hit/Blessed The Most From The Patch?

Warlock is complete ASSSSSS now. Absolutely worst variation in the game bar none. He lost his armoured scoop which dealt shitty damage anyway. like 31% for a bar? OH NO! NERF!

Added 3 hits of armour to Portal Stab but where they at NRS? WHERE THEY AT?!

Job well done.

I don't think D'vorah has been hit the most at all. Puddle on block adv was stupid, needed to go, it's still +6 iirc. As for her cancels, the hit applies to most if not all cancel characters.

Puddle is +3 now and it can't be used the same way due to the recovery stealth nerf. Most of the cast has an armored option that will punish her for attempting to do so. Literally punish. That entire aspect of her game is gone.

And I fail to see how a universal change is irrelevant to a specific character simply because it applies to multiple characters. She got hurt by it. Yes, it's a new meta, and she and many other cancel characters are overall worse in it.

Not to mention BM and Venomous didn't exactly get showered with blessings either. Brood Mother got her damage and scaling gutted to make her combos possible instead of literal 1f links that disappear if you aren't max range. In short, she got basic functionality that the rest of the cast that uses meter to extend combos takes for granted. Now if we can just get those massive multiple gaps and whiffing issues addressed, she might reach upper mid.

Venomous got a legitimately good armor move, but lost it's chip damage and best armor breaking move. Right when it would've been most valuable too. The old EX spray would do 28% damage breaking a 2 hit armor move.

The loss of chip damage has highlighted the fact that Venomous offense is entirely based around it. The reason Venomous couldn't extend combos was because every restand could be followed up by ~13% chip. With that gone, you're left with most of her hit confirms leading to 12-17.5%, except for f34, f44, and her high strings.

And with the nerf to regular puddle and the universal changes to stamina, Venomous may quite seriously have some of the least anti-zoning options in the game. If you can get them to block puddle and don't get hit at the same time, you might get a dash. Any zoner that knows the matchup either won't let you get one out or is waiting for it so they can run in and full combo you for trying though.

Her run is still amazing, but you can't run to nearly the same degree as before. She's left with Bo Rai Cho level walk speed and X-ray. That's it. Having a weakness is great. I'm fine with having to get in honestly, but the complete dearth of options once someone is past mid-screen is a problem. Most other characters that get zoned this hard at least have advancing armor.

TL, DR: I think D'vorah did get hit that hard. Maybe not hardest, but hard.

Nerf run cancel characters, offence is too strong , fine! But chucking em back into a game filled with fucked up hurtboxes, no hurtbox moves, whacky hitboxes and HTBs is just. . . Like now I have to play neutral against this ugly shit.

Blessed: Sektor (about time his awesomeness is reflected in how effective he is), Raiden, Kitana

Raped to hell: Not sure. Hopefully Jacqui.

Dink, I love ya man, but 31% off of an armored launcher wasn't shitty damage. Also the scoop armor removal was a universal change, not a Warlock-specific change.

3-hits of armor from Portal Stab being bad I'll give you though. It's more like half a hit of armor, 50/50 chance that the first hit actually appears.
