".. as long as I come here, they're not going to win this anymore". -KDZ
Without a doubt, Wednesday Night was one of the most exciting and unpredictable Injustice Next Level Battle Circuit tournaments yet. With The Break's top competitors EMP KDZ and EMP DarthArma coming down to join the mix, and Arturo Sabin back and in top form commentating and streaming, it looked to be a good night -- but the action that took place in the bracket defied everyone's expectations.
The commotion started early on, as Chris G faced Mike Infinite near the beginning of the Winners bracket. With Chris G riding his CEO victory and looking sharp, predictions were bleak for Mike as he brought out his Batgirl. After Chris took the first game, there were already calls from the stream chat to 'pack it up'. But undaunted, Mike did a great job of both interrupting Green Arrow's d1~low arrow and landing unusual setups into Batgirl's Smoke bomb. By the middle of the second match, Mike was running even with Chris G and backed him into the corner, using Batgirl's mixups to chip away at his life and taking the game with a pair of anti-air j2's. And in a close third game, they both fought tooth and nail until Chris G hit Mike with an unblockable Super into unclashable damage, leaving him about 7-8% life. But Mike pulled off an improbable comeback to take the set over Chris G, 2-1.
Chris G's next set on stream, against Harley player TSF Ramon, featured an ending game that will likely go down as one of the most exciting IGAU matches in NLBC history. With Ramon taking the 1st match, Chris regained his composure and finished out the second game looking confident as usual. But Ramon came out strong in the Game 3, and hit Chris G with a number of mixups to jump out to a huge early lead. With Arturo invoking the "Real Master catchphrase", Chris hit Ramon with 3 or 4 punishes in a row, erasing the life lead and forcing Ramon to Clash. In a deja vu moment from the Mike Infinite set, Chris hit Ramon with the super and had him down to his last visible sliver of life. But in a comeback that has to be seen to be believed, Ramon hit Chris with an overhead into his own Super, leaving them both with almost no life and seconds to spare.
With the commentators yelling "Oh my god!", Ramon went for the jump kick after the Super launch to close the match.. But it whiffed, leaving both players with a pixel of life, scrambling madly to get the last hit. And with both players in each others' faces and a scratch away from death, Chris pushblocked Ramon away; but Ramon bet the match on a jump 2 and caught Chris coming in for the win, causing the entire area around the stream station, as well as the stream chat, to erupt with people screaming in hype and disbelief. The commentary team yelled so loud due to the shock that sound was blocked out from the stream for the next few seconds.

Later KDZ, fresh off his win on Tuesday night at The Break, yet still not satisfied, looked menacing as he bullied his way through the bracket to Winners Finals to face his friend and frequent competitor DarthArma. Arma, who beat KDZ in Winners Finals on Tuesday and probably knows KDZ better than any other Batman player, started off strong and went blow-for-blow with KDZ in the first game. After putting KDZ down to 3% health with an AA j2, Arma was a hairs' edge away from winning when a blown parry in the corner cost him the match. Arma won the second game with a commanding lead, and started off the third game on even footing, but KDZ baited an interactible to punish Arma and pressured him relentlessly to win the final match and advance.
In Losers Finals, DarthArma faced EMP DragonGod, who had been training hard with Arturo all week and was looking strong throughout the night. With DarthArma unable to find an answer to DragonGod's timely reads and divekicks, DragonGod raced to a quick 3-0 win, setting up a GrandFinals between himself and KDZ (who had beaten him earlier in the bracket). Although DragonGod played well and appeared to have KDZ on the ropes in the first match, a whiffed b2 gave KDZ a small opening to steal the game with a Super. In Game 2, DragonGod fought his way back from a large deficit and appeared to be on the verge of a huge comeback;, but he bungled a whiff punish, allowing KDZ to hit him with a low laser and win. In the third game, KDZ battered DragonGod incessantly and landed his trademark divepunch reset in the corner into Super to take the tournament convincingly.
The win this week makes KDZ the first player to win both the NLBC tournament and The Break's tournament in the same week. Thirsty for victory and fresh off his last-second loss to PerfectLegend in CEO Losers Finals, KDZ made it known that he will be coming back to Battle Circuit and is ready to defeat all comers the week before EVO. With KDZ surging and knocking off a list of top players, the stage is set for debut in Injustice at EVO. He is calling out all challengers at NLBC.. Who will prevail?
Top 4:
1) EMP/VxG KDZ
2) EMP DragonGod
3) EMP DarthArma
4) MikeInfinite
