The steely resolve of Team Galloping Ghost Arcade knows no limitations, and their exploits at Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament 9 reflect this as they defend their territory from an invasion consisting of players from multiple regions in the country! Out of the Top 8 for Mortal Kombat 9, five warriors for GGA were holding it down, but sadly only one player could reign victorious...even teammates had to wrest the championship title away from one another.
Character variety has proven strong in this Top 8, as have the skill levels of their players. This tournament also contained an exceptionally rare occasion where GGA Dizzy shifts his Johnny Cage aside in favor of another character (which was Kung Lao in this case) to contend with FOREVER KING's Kenshi - the one other time he attempted this was during the MLG Summer Arena where he proceeded to mirror Pig of the Hut's Kenshi with his own in Grand Finals. However, FOREVER KING answered this counter-pick with his switch to Cyrax, sending Dizzy to Loser's Finals.
In spite of this loss, the famed Johnny Cage player of GGA refused to be outdone. When his teammate GGA 16-Bit managed to fight his way out of the Loser's Bracket, Dizzy held his ground and dominated his friend with an overwhelming 3-0 outcome, setting the stage for a climactic rematch against FOREVER KING! The crowd clung tight to the edge of their seats, anticipating the many possible results the outcome could bring.
This time, Dizzy did not stray from his iconic character, and was able to tip the scales heavily in his favor by resetting the brackets with a 3-1 result in the first set, overcoming a 2-8 match-up against FOREVER KING's Kenshi in the process! Dizzy's control persisted in the second set, forcing KING to abandon Kenshi in favor of Freddy Krueger out of desperation.
Standing strong in the face of some of the strongest zoners in the game, GGA Dizzy claims Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament 9 and defends his team's reign in their home region! Congratulations to the tournament champion for upsetting the balance enough to seize a well-deserved victory!
