that thing looks way to big to haul around to tournys and offline sessions lol. gonna need a flat bed truck. Not sure hoe the next gen fighting game scene will look,

Lol. Flat truck.

The design was hideous to me as well like a shiny VCR until I saw the concept video behind the design decision.
If you look at it, it's more in line with a receiver look or some kind of component to entertainment system.

Instead of making it videogamey looking - they wanted it to look like a more sophisticated piece.

Just sucks no Injustice on there (as of yet).

I play X-Box now, but it's PS4 over Microsoft for these next gen consoles. For what I went through with repairing 360's, this is my way of flipping them the bird. Besides, Sony has always been way more friendly to fighting games, and their control looks much better for fighting games even with the new revised X-Box One D-pad.

Any word on the pricing of each console?

I hear you - consumer power at its best.

PS4 is in the same boat though - they have no backwards compatibility. From what I have read, they plan on doing something where you can access older games from ps one to ps3 via the cloud. They also were quick to point out, this is not seething that will happen immediately buy over time in phases. Which could mean a whole year or more.

Honestly, I wish both PS4 & Xbox One would had at least found a way to support backward compatibility for recently released games. Not a big deal just thought I put up here how I felt about it and see if you guys shared the same thoughts on it as well.

I'll wait for E3 before making any decision. I hear lots of exclusives and new franchises are on the way for XB1.
PS4 isn't backwards compatible either so it really doesn't change much.

Besides, Boon & NRS will be sure to bring a next-gen title out... the question is when and for what?

You guys are making your decision based on looks? What are you girls?

Seriously, no where in that conference did they say no backwards compatibility, then again, even if it is true, they're doing it to drop the price on these super machines.

The PS3s biggest problem was it's huge price point. The slims were made with no backwards compatibility to lower the price. With the power their pumping into these systems...good, save me money I'll keep my 360.

Yea, I forgot to place the link in my opening post. Doing that now.

If you think the looks are what is bothering anyone you are wrong

Literally not a single positive detail about this hunk of crap in my opinion.

Have to go online every day.
Must install games to HDD
No more borrowing games from friends or selling second hand
Controller looks OK, but worse than current one
SOOOO much multimedia shit. Can't we just get a games console, that plays games well and nothing else?
Kinect nonsense EVERYWHERE. Plus MS probably using it to spy on you for their evil marketing department. ("Oi, this guy likes eating cheese toasties while playing". Next week we get MicroSoft instant cheese sandwiches we can order online.)

I think I'm gonna get sick.

I wasn't impressed with the Xbox One even remotely. It wasn't the design that turned me off either. It's the kinect and voice recognition crap. Call me old school, but I like to hold a controller while I play games and it's clear that Microsoft is heading in a direction where one day a controller won't be necessary for them. I primarily play fighting games, so I don't see that working well with the kinect in tournament play lol. Also, I'm pretty sure I can press up or down on my television remote quicker than I can say, "Xbox change the channel to x" lol.

I was not impressed with the graphics even though it was all CGI. Everyone keeps talking like it's such a powerful machine LMAO. My PC I built almost 3 years ago is nearly 3x more powerful than the next gen console. It's laughable and I've taken notice in peoples spiked interest in PC gaming over consoles now.

Actually you can by used & trade games (even a online trade game feature they are not fully speaking on yet. Waiting until E3.

Also you DO NOT have to be always online. You can play your single player games offline. Watch the Video Interview in my first post.

Regarding your statement, that leads me to believe you mean - make it gaming only? Thats crazy. It's both a media and game console. I don't know about you. But I have a full blown entertainment system center with a 80' TV. I do not want to buy extra components or have to accomodate extra space for things that can be encompassed in one device. If the Xbox one has it capable - that's great for me and less shit to buy. I can now sell my blu ray player and all its attachments. This decluttering my area and hopefully decreasing the dust accumulation that occurs in such cluttered spaces.

Also, aside from games I do have a life. I have my girlfriend whom I live with. Family, friends that come visit spend nights watching movies. So I am glad that it accommodates all these angles not just games. I am a gamer at heart but a mature man living in my home with friends and gatherings. Games do not dominate the living room for everyone.

Try having an expensive entertainment center setup where you have invested 10k and you will see how systems like these are a god send in both space conservation and less attachment clutter (monster wires, universal remote coding, etc.) With a hybrid entertainment I can play my games and cuddle up afterwards with my woman and watch a nice movie. I am glad both PS4 and XB1 were intelligent in this regard.

Regarding the voice commands and kinect. It's not forced upon you. You don't have to use them. Watch my first post video he mentions it on there. I am glad they do have it though. I hit the gym daily for health and body. At home I want to be lazy as possible and convinience is key in that regards.

In regards to your last paragraph. What are these extra components you have now that are taking up space in your living room that your Xbox 360 doesn't already have? A netflix device? A dvd player? A cable box? Or is it infact just a blu ray player? lol. I see nothing groundbreaking with the Xbox one. Do you want to know what's in my living room? A 40' television and a PS3. Nothing else lol. I can stream HD movies, watch Blu Ray movies, play games, etc. etc. with the current gen. Also, expensive Monster cables were just a decision you made. Things like that aren't necessary.

EDIT; Also, where I live I can watch Xfinity(Comcast) on my 360 already. Nothing new here...move along. :coffee:

Judging by your set up you have no knowledge of sophisticated entertainment center. Monster cables or any form of high def cables are indeed needed if you want to get the best out of your sophisticated entertainment center. Especially the ones with platinum or gold tips. It pushes out gigs of information. My visual clarity on my tv is at extreme higher level than yours if you were sitting here you would think you were staring out the window. My sound clarity is also higher levels than yours.

If you do not have such cables you do not get the most out of your sophisticated entertainer center.
I am not going to sit here and breakdown the tech. This thread is not intended for that. You can wiki the info or go to your nearest best buy or high end entertainment business and literally they will laugh at your comment you made above. That said, you do not own what I own so sitting here and explaining something to you - you have no knowledge nor experienced is naught.

Also I never mentioned there is anything groundbreaking about the Xbox one. I'm all about convinience and that is what is does for me.

There is no need to wiki what monster cables are and what they're capable of lol. If you think I know nothing about technology, then that's just silly. My job revolves around expanding technology. With that said, it was still a decision you made. It's like arguing your television is better than mine because yours is 1080p and mine is 1080i. There may be a difference in specs, but not to the average eye. :coffee: Also, you will still be using all those wires with the Xbox One. Especially if you want this "superior" quality you speak of, so it changes nothing for you.

Dude, your wrong. My $3 hdmi cable i bought 2 years ago on ebay is just as efficient and stable as the $100 monster cables they sell at best buy.

I wonder how I am wrong when I never said I spent $100 on a hdmi or said $100 hdmi are better than cheaper hdmi. Hdmi is same all around.
Supposedly the gold tips and diamond tips produce better fidelity. Even I didn't spend $100 not even $40 on those.

I just said hdmi are "needed" to produce that visual and audio fidelity. The guy I was responding to said hdmi cables are not needed.

Why is everyone talking about the Xbox One? It's a 12 year old console so I don't think they will port injustice to...

I mean, Microsoft are English speaking people... they don't even have the luxury of saying lost in translation...
