Only thing I would be concerned about is a generic plot. Monster destroys stuff, so Gundams fight it. Monster beats Gundams, government wants to nuke monster. Gundam dudes are like NOOO THE GUNDAMS CAN DO IT! Government shoots nukes anyway, Gundams beat monster, and stop the nuke. If it does not happens this way, I will be satisfied.

Its directed by GUILLERMO DEL TORO.

I don't doubt like Cthulhu will show up or something and the plot gets all trippy and awesome instead of generic. I heard that they want to avoid cliched plots as much as they can and not have any homages to any existing giant robot monster thing shows.

True true, Guillermo does not disappoint. Also, if I see Cthulu, that's a major plus.

I think I'm the few people who saw The Orphanage, it was good.

And Hellboy is really underrated, god damn, people go see it. Saw both in theaters.

Hellboy was meh to me. Idk if I have seen The Orphange, but it sounds familiar.

Also FINALLY! An American monster with energy based attacks.

I don't know why only Japan does this and U.S./Mexican film makers are so afraid to give their giant monsters energy based powers. Is it fear of it being not taken serious? It's a giant monster, nothing is real to begin with the very concept is heavy in fantasy. If someone gives you shit saying it's "not realistic" they're either retarded or just finding an excuse to bitch for bitching sake.

So?

Sometimes a simple plot is all you need. A movie doesn't have to be good to be AWESOME. There's a lot of movies that from a technical or critical point are pretty bad but a lot of people still love it, the first Mortal Kombat movie is actually pretty fun despite being PG-13.

As a fan of Godzilla I can tell you most of the movies have a weak story and boring humans and you're just there for the monsters to fight each other and smash shit. That's not to say there are no good ones, the first one was very deep with a message about the horror's of nuclear weapons, unlike most giant monster films of it's time the nuclear origin was the whole point of the movie and not just a plot point to have an excuse to have a monster.

As long as it's fun watching (or making fun of with your friends) who cares if it sucks. MST3K did it all the time.

When I hear people moan and groan "this has been done toe death" you can just tell they don't what the fuck they are talking about. In Japan? Yes it has been done to death. But in the U.S.? Other then Cloverfield and King Kong 2005 we really haven't had a lot of monster films recently. And even back in the 50's and 60's when they were a dime a dozen we never had them fight other monsters/robots save for King Kong vs Godzilla and even then it was a Japanese film crew making that film, we just gave them the rights to use Kong.

Basically what I'm saying is, usually when I hear someone say "we don't this" they should speak for themselves cause what they really mean is "I don't need this".

Calm down bro lol. I didn't say the movie was going to be awful. I have 100% faith in Guillermo Del Toro.
