Heyo, saw you posting in the Vancouver section of the boards.
Was wondering if you were still organizing get togethers at Stronghold or anywhere else around town these days. Would love to get some games in if possible.
Stronghold is closing its location but its moving follow them @

Magic Stronghold is moving! The last day our current location will be open is September 22nd after that visit us at our new location at 5558 Lane Street. This is right behind the White Spot on Kingsway not far from our current location.
Every wed @ their new location I will at the very least try to attend as much as I can to play on those nights cuz they are the best for offline and if you bring MK there are some pretty decent players.
Are there people typically playing MK every week? Sorry, but I'm not into BlazBlue, SFIV or anything else, just MK. Not sure if you work there or are affiliated with them in any way, but you seem to know more than I would, lol. Are you saying I would have to bring my own controller and a copy of the game? Not a problem in either case, but just wondering.
Do you still play MK regularly? at the venue I mean. Just trying to gauge the kind of environment it is. I've posted a bunch of times in the Vancouver section and hardly anyone ever responds.
I have mono so I can't bring my set up and monitor down on my self via the skytrain at the moment because I'm at risk of straining my spleen or liver.
If you bring MK with you there will be multiple set ups of Xbox 360 and PS3. Mostly PS3. If you build it they will come. Lots of people can play MK there but it won't be being played without me or someone there to host.
Lots of Street Fighter players there I went to Evo for MK so I can say my main game is clearly MK9 hell I judged the game but still you need to keep an open mind I brushed up on my SF and even learned to play Marvel vs Capcom just so I could play people here as well even though mainly I play MK9.
If you keep an open mind a lot of people there are willing to play as well people are wanting to learn as many competitive people are training there for Canada Cup in November. As well as So Cal regionals on December 18th (I know I am for MK9
).
I'm going to post this as well onto the thread so people can know whats up on the schedule for MK9 in the 604.
Dude, Mono is serious business. If you are feeling ill, you'll definitely want to take care of that before going out for something so inconsequential. Health comes first!
That being said, whereabouts are you coming from? I actually work fairly close to Magic Stronghold, and if you aren't too far, I'm sure arranging rides and helping setup wouldn't be a problem at all once you are feeling up to it. What time would you typically head down there normally?
I can definitely keep an open mind on other games, I actually grew up on Street Fighter, but seeing high level players play that game is fairly intimidating to be honest. Almost all fighters are stick reliant, but I'm more of a pad user, hence the preference for MK. As long as there is some MK action to be had, I am down. Hopefully we can round up some others on the board. I think the potential is there, but there just needs to be something set up to begin with.
