I know no one from Michigan that plays MK. Oh, and I realize there's a thread asking for Flint, Lansing, etc., but that's specific. I want all of the Michigan (generally Detroit) players to post so I know who I have a chance to play with. Don't be shy.

I know, it's such a shame. I forgot to mention, if you do post here, state where in MI you're from. I live in Hamtramck, around 5-10 minutes from downtown Detroit. Quaint little place.. well, not really lmao. But it's home.

Bunch of players in the Grand Rapids area.

We've been having bi-weekly MK9 side tournaments after our capcom game ranbats. Had one last night! I told Justim about it but, doesn't look like he was able to make it.

I got to losers finals for the 2nd time. Forever 3rd place!

My friend Thorne AKA Vector lives in Kalamazoo, but he doesn't have an account on here.

I'm trying to get him into the game, but it's hard from half a country away, haha.

I live in Flint and would host casuals most days of the week if anyone would be interested. I have 360, PS3, extra pads and sticks (no converters though) also have the Asus 236h monitor so input lag wont be a issue.

Just drop me a message if anyone is interested.

10 I guess? That are playing MK9 I mean.

I can't really be more specific than Grand Rapids since that's where we have our weekly gatherings. Some of the players do however drive up to an hour for the gatherings.

That seriously looks awesome. It's kind of a drive for me (detroit) but i'd do it if there was a good group of people getting together for MK.

ONLY PROBLEM, found this on the website;

"No Alcohol or Drugs – We have ZERO tolerance for offenders. If you bring drugs or alcohol on the premises or we feel you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs we will ask you to leave and not return."

I can totally understand not wanting that kind of stuff IN the store I guess, but "under the influence"? Does this mean if I go burn one in my car you're gonna try to throw me out when I walk in?

Also;

"No Profanity – This includes language offensive to people’s race, sex and sexual orientation."

... the fuck? No swearing? This goes at Mortal Kombat get togethers as well? Rated M for mature... I shouldn't have to "watch my mouth". Weird.

Anyway, place does look sweet though. But if the owner, or you or whatever, is gonna keep this place sponge bob friendly i'll pass. I think i'd rather drive to one of these dudes houses and show up with a case so we can all knock back a few and call each other dickheads.

@septicfish: You should make the drive up sometime and meet up there for some games. If it is indeed pg-13 we can roll back to my place and have some normal sessions with all the trimmings if you catch my drift.

@F1st: Give us some more details, do you have a couple people that play mk9 regularly already? I would love to try to coordinate a weekly event\casual tourny if there is more then just a couple people.

This could be really big for a MI scene since its pretty central and right off 75 and 23. I am willing to help out anyway I can, just keep me informed and I will do as much as possible to get this on its feet.

im in detroit and im down 2 host burn the trees and cigs outside is all i ask. Due to my license being suspended im not traveling anywhere unless we meet up and car pool. I dont give a shit if yall bring some sippie sippie lol. We need to get this shit crackin!

Got a few guys in Ann Arbor, and a few more that just moved to GR.

That LAN center looks really nice, might have to make the drive out there soon.

i enjoy the greens and brew,
as many michiganders do.

i travel between k-zoo and detroit area occasionally since i orginially hail from the east-side. i'll have to look into this place when i get a chance. it'd be real cool to get some mini-tournys going in michigan. glad there's a thread for this. hello to all!

@F1st: Man I watch some of your vids on YouTube, good to know that even a decently popular commentator is in the scene, cool that you live in Michigan. That place looks sweet, unfortunately it's an hour away from me and I'm only 17 with no job and no car, but hell if someone from Detroit was willing to drive me I'm all for going there.

To everyone else, for now we should all add each other on PSN/XBL and get some matches in until we find somewhere to visit that's within reasonable distance of everyone willing to meet up.

gotta delete some doods on my friends list..... good idea though. it MAY help with the lag, lol


@Jinx: since you're the creator of this thread(and i figured you'd want to), you should create a group that people from michigan can join. i can do it if you'd like, just wanted to give you first-dibs.

I know they do ranbats in garden city and we do ranbats in grand rapids. We're on an alternating week schedule right now so there is something going on every weekend.

We're not doing MK9 ranbats right now but, we have been doing MK9 side tournaments at midnight most ranbat weeks(In GR).

Kalamazoo actually has some ranbats and weekly play(not sure if they play any MK9 though) might want to check out facebook/srk for more info or PM me and I can try to get you in contact with the right people.

We're not playing MK9 much right now mainly due to the limbo the game is in. I haven't played since UFGT because of the whole "we're going to totally change your character but, you have no idea when!" thing.

I know there is one guy that drives from lansing to GR most saturdays and a pretty big group that comes from detroit sometimes. But, I would definitely drive out to lansing for a tournament, especially if it's not on a saturday!
