wtf is wrong with people?

(CNN) -- A pistol in the hands of a 4-year-old boy went off during a weekend cookout, killing the wife of a Tennessee sheriff's deputy who was showing his guns to a relative, state police said Monday.
No one saw the boy pick up the weapon before the shooting, which occurred Saturday night in Lebanon, east of Nashville, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kristin Helm said. The single shot killed 47-year-old Josephine Fanning, the wife of Wilson County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Fanning.
The couple were hosting family and friends at their house when Daniel Fanning and a relative went into a bedroom to check out some of Fanning's guns, Helm said. Josephine Fanning and the boy walked into the room later, and at some point the boy picked the loaded pistol up off the bed.
Helm said she wasn't sure of the relationship between the boy and the Fannings. The TBI, which investigates incidents involving law enforcement officers, is still conducting its probe, and no charges have been filed.
The gun involved was Fanning's personal weapon, not his service pistol, she said.

Watch people will cry about how gun control would have prevented this. People are just not smart leaving a gun out where a 4 year old boy can get it.
me personally i despise guns but banned or not there always going to be around and the real question is who do you want the money going to? the nra or the black market

thats the one thing this whole gun debate never thinks about

Banning guns does not equal gun control.

Another thing people rarely tend to think about.

Why was the gun loaded? Seriously I thought when you show off your gun collection you look to make sure the guns, you know, don't have any bullets in them.

Yeah that's petty stupid to show off a loaded gun for shits and giggles with a 4y/o around.
you know fox news is going to have a field day with this and bitch and moan about every gun owner is this and that and are never wrong.

look im not saying all gun owners are bad and hell i even thought it was wrong with what nyc did by publishing gun owners addresses in the paper........ but i hate this false sense of every gun owner is 110% responsible with no incident for what they do with there fire arms. i just hate how the extreme gun owners go well i know for a fact blabla no they dont because are they there to see what go's on in a persons home? hell no

Guns are extremely dangerous. it only takes one bullet to end a persons life. they are responsible for countless deaths. people should keep that in mind when a child or anyone is around. people shouldnt just leave them lying around. things will continue to happen like this all the time. this news doesnt surprise me. guns are made for killing. thats what they will continue to do

As long as everyone can get a gun, this kind of accident will happen. America, the country of freedom

It's at least a good beginning don't you think ?..
Of course not. Banning guns is basically just letting criminals get guns. Background checks and/or getting rid of gun shows is a much better start. Banning guns will literally accomplish nothing but taking away guns from those who actually have a right to have them.

I blame bad parenting (or none at all?) for most gun violence and in this case, pure stupidity...
soooo this. look if i had a 4 year old ther eis no way id allow him to play a mature rated game. alot of parents just simply dont care and shit like that is why games are to blame when they arent

To everyone saying guns should be banned, please take a look at Sweden, where everyone owns a full auto and keeps it on them.
They have no gun violence lol
