Was the "Demo" a bad move?

Most of the people complaining about it are non competetive fighting game players anyways... Which I could honestly care less about...

I'm looking forward to about 6 months after the game where the casuals realize they aren't going to dominate everyone with their favorite sooper her0 and they move on to the next game... There will be less stupidity on the forums....... well.... hopefully.... XD

The most common thing i noticed is either

"Plays too much like MK, not getting a crappy clone"

"Does not play like MK at all, plays more like Marval, i hate Marvel"

or

"Games too fast paced, i hate fast paced fighters"

"This Game is way too slow for me, really disappointed"

You can write this, they will all buy the fucking game afterwards

I think releasing the demo early was a bad idea, they should have waited til after the game was launched. However I also think the small amount of people who aren't pleased with the demo are more vocal then the people that do enjoy it. Seriously if the worst comment is that wonder woman has a man face, then I think we are in the clear for a pretty good game.

The demo did damage. The leak is correcting that with people seeing the full build. Not implying the leak was a NRS move as well, but when you start to think about it (especially it's timing, since most games usually don't leak a week + in advance, just a few days from what I know) it starts to make an awful lot of sense.

It's a game with comic book characters, popular ones at that. It's going to sell like hotcakes regardless of what a few naysayers think or do.

Exactly Mk vs DC sold a million and a half copies and it was a terrible fighting game.

ive played soul calibur V more than ive played the demo. If its anything like MK it will be way different upon release anyway so why waste time on it?

No it wasn't, the people who whine on the forums are like 1% of the people who's buying the game, and those that are whining aren't even people who's going to take it competitively, so, most competitive players are happy and general consumers are happy it was a outstanding move.

In short, those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Agreed %1000, those forums don't make up the majority. Who cares if even a couple 100 people from those sites don't get the game, NRS aims to sell millions not 100's.

And you really have to ask yourself something. Are you really bothered by someone who is not going to buy the game because WW looks like a man? If anything, you are caring a bit too much about what others are saying. You should just concentrate on what you like and that's it...I do not care if the majority of TYM disagrees with me because it's my opinion of the demo. If people love it, kudos to them. I just wish others would understand that not everyone has to like it just because it's something everyone has been looking forward to.

I didn't like the demo and have plenty of reasons why, but this should not hinder your enjoyment of the game at all. Besides, people on Neogaf and all those other sites are most likely casuals and their opinion can be safely disregarded.

I don't think it was a bad move at all. Have you seen all these streams? If nothing else, the demo pumped up the hype factor a ton. The number one comment I've gotten from everyone I've had come over and play is: "I wish there was more."

Granted, the people I know are a very small pond in an ocean. But, so are all of those forums, and even these forums. We don't represent the majority. We're a vocal minority.

Besides, the entire purpose of a demo is for people to see if they like the product. A trial. I don't think NRS expected everyone would be preaching the gospel of Injustice, and we shouldn't expect it either.

But WW does have a manface. This is undeniable.

The full game has been leaked? I haven't seen any YT videos about it(MK9 had quite a few by this time).

TBH at first i slighty disappointed by the demo, because it was not how i anticapte to play like?
Now i fucking love it, it shits all over MK and MK is a great game.
But heres the thing from what im reading all over the internet the negative talk on it, seems to be over taken the positive talk. (that may be due to people speak louder when their unhappy)
im glad we have a fully solid Fighter but i also want NRS to do really well for all the hard work and dedication to the fans.

like WTF no exaggeration these are the popular reasons why people is not getting the game!, like there opposite to each other which makes no sense!

The key is play the game for more than 5 minutes , to actually grasp it and appreciate it as a complexly new IP.

So my worry is the demo impacted badly on low intelligent Human section which is majority haha(Joking).
But do you think the Demo was a bad move in the long run, and think it will effect the sales of the game?

i say screw all of them, if they don't want the game they can be wishing they had it when i win evo 2k14 for injustice, and wished they never judged a game from a demo, now when they pick it up it will be to late and they will be miles behind everyone.

I went through my phase of not liking it(well the dashing), but i've gotten used to it. I take back all the bad stuff i said about it. It IS just a demo after all. I'll really know where I stand once the real game is released and i get my hands on aquaman and nightwing.

The game is going to do IMMENSELY well simply because of the characters it has. So many people are just going to say"Hey look its Batman going up against the Joker, Bane, and Superman. It even has Robin/Nightwing too, buy". Many people are going to get the game just to fight against all of their favorite DC heroes/villains and look at the awesome graphics, the gameplay doesn't have to be superb for casuals.
