I'm in Poughkeepsie, so an hour / half north of you guys. I'm down there all the time for Rugby games, wouldn;t mind getting some games in.

Waddup homies. I can host up in Harlem if anyone is interested.
Dying to get some offline games in with people to see where I stand (cant stand anything online.)
I'll check the thread regularly to see wats good wit ppl.

ahh my phone is disconnected, for a week or so, so PM me your new number if you can. i can come thru tonight and ill check th eforum a few hours later. do you play on ps3? cause id have to bring a stick.

But yeah, I noticed this thread doesn't have much activity. There's a huge lack of local sessions here in the NYC area and I only get to play at tournaments

Arturo, you're killing me...LOL... we play all the time and we're like 25 mins from you... Lynbrook/Valley Stream is basically the southern border of Nassau/Queens and it's 25 mins from where you live!

i am from westcheter but i am alway looking for people to meet and play with. i am down for the drive as long as i can get a good 2:30 hours of play

lol i think i should change my name to ryu48 since i been driving to many place in ny,nj looking for good opponents just like ryu does ;)

fair enough, I'm fucking up brother. LOL. Although to be honest I have spent a lot of time at Spookys as you can see by the house streams and he is in deeeeeeeeeeep brooklyn. Which means it's almost a 2 hour trek for me to get back to the heights. I need to come play u guys already. at the same time, at least id never get put on blast for not showing up to tournaments lolol.

Next week I (may) be going to MAT in Canada (montreal) with Josh, Min and my boy so thursday might be bad. I'm sorry I really haven't been able to commit to an event yet with you guys :(

Riu: oh, youre in westchester? cool! the boy i might be traveling to MAT8 with is actually from westchester and wants to drive us. i sometimes kick it with him in westchester and play sf with him so if im in the area, it would be cool to play some MK. and if you traveled down tot he city to play i wouldnt mind playing peeps for a few hours or so. if anything i know about traveling long distances to play than almost anyone else in fighting games period, so i understand ur concern.

BTW, to all the NYC guys were in talks to try to get MK9 at the next Guard Crush. just some scheduling issues. MK9 will be at the next level in some way shape or form just need local NYC peeps to actually show up and play lol

Phil, it also sucked that your event was at the same time as the 8bit one, hopefully we can avoid those kinda conflicts int he future at least for local events. I saw the results and I saw that Joe was there as well..if we were actually all in the same place at the same time we woulda had a 20-30 man tourney easyyyyyyyyyyyy i think. and plus i love playing joe i learn so much playing him for just a hour lol.

But yeah, hope this thread starts to pick up a bit more when things get more established. Been talking to Haunts/iplaywinner a lot after he left NY and norcal is taking MK9 somewhat seriously with weekly offline events which is good to see. I mean Michelangelo is from there and we've been seeing him top 8 every major basically lol

Yeah, the west coast is definitely getting some heavy hitters in this game. Watching what bit of MK WNF shows there are some hard hitters out there with Michelangelo, online tony, Krazie, Sequel, alex, etc etc.

DK, I started from the same starting point. It's still early, and a lot of people arent that good yet. There's still plenty of time to get good.
As far as sessions go do any of you guys here go to The Next Level? I never see a setup for MK9 there. I'm wondering if anyone actually plays it. It was there the first two weeks..and then nothing.

8bit and up (at St. Marks) actually has mk9 sessions every Friday though I did not know that.

Hey guys in in Irvington, NJ but I work in Soho. So I wouldnt mind catching the train and play for a few after work hehe.

I wish i had seen this thread sooner too

I also forgot to mention that I play on ps3 and never tried playing MK with my TE Stick. So ps3 controllers all day for me

Nice Sabin! If i can make it out to this I def will. BK is way easier than LI.

Do you have any more info on the Friday nights at 8 Bit and Up? Thats way close to me.

My job is anal about my weekends so that Wednesday doesnt sound too bad.
Definitely gonna try and make it out. How late does 8bit close? Was thinking of checking it out too.

So I made a stop at 8-Bit and Up and found out who I need to reach out to regarding these MK 9 casuals.

Supposedly it ISNT always Fridays according to the guy at the store. Also, they play other games, not just MK. MvC3 and some others. Mostly Xbox and you must bring your own stick or controller.

Dude who runs it is in Japan and wont be back till next week, but I was given his email and dropped him a line. Once I hear back from him, I will pass the information along to you all.

Keep you all posted. Im very much looking forward to playing and learning some techniques and fundamentals from all you guys.

I got JohnBee's # and he has mine, so soon we'll be hanging. Riu, are you still ok with coming to NYC, if you just want 2 hours of play dude we can play longer then that man lol.

If you want. All we tend to play is rotating since my buds like different games, but usually it's just MK and COD.

Also, which borough are everyone from? I'm out in Staten Island, NYC the smallest borough. Anyone here from Brooklyn by any chance?
