Before every major event TYM is known for creating Top 8 Prediction threads and as we all know most of top 8 can never be fully predicted what Ive decided is to shed light on some 3 players I feel have the absolute best chance to make top 8 and become MLG Dallas "Breakout Player"
Look at the past winner for the formula, Showtime, dominant at his locals and places well at Majors he's been able to attend in his area. He was screwed by the curse of the NinjaSarus at Anahein yet didnt let that effect him at Raleigh. We all knew he was a top player, one to plan for and account for but at the same time we were just waiting for him to bust through and he did in a huge way comin out of argueably the hardest side of the bracket knocking detroit, forever king, insuperable and others out.
So who fits the formula for the upcoming MLG Dallas?
Im asking all who participate make 3 ***THREE*** player siggestions or guesses not 1, not 5 not 8 and list reasons why you feel they
A breakout player cannot have made top 8 at mlg or evo or won a major or placed high in one.
1. Atl_Pokchop - Extremely dominant Kenshi player who at CEO did not have his MUs known or studied but he sweats fundamentals and is a top 3 world player in Tekken. He's mained Kenshi since July and ALTs Lao and Smoke but very very rarely uses them. He has a prestigous opportunity here to win TTT2 and place top 8 at MK9, very likly. Now that he knows all his MUs consider yourselves Warned. FOR THE RECORD. Two people have beaten my Kenshi in a tourney/major/evo/mlg by the dominant score of 3-1.......REO and Pokchop. If nothing makes you a believer out of him then digest that stat for a second.
2. Woundcowboy - The most dedicated Shang main ive ever played or witnessed. Earned his way to MLG though the confines of online battlefield and when you ask any known top player in secret who has played Woundcowboy they always respond with "Hes extremely good and its only a matter of time before he breaks through.....I had to work really hard" I think his time is now. Not many people know the Shang MU and not many people are ready for a Shang of his calibur. Detroit has moved on the greater pastures of Kabal leaving Woundcowboy as the definitive Shang to beat. Extremely smart spacing, pressure, zoning, Soul Steal setups will lead this man to victory in the state of his favorite NFL team....(regardless his pathetic cowboys will lose this weekend to the greater team known as the falcons on SNF)
3. DAB - Probably the absolute best player NO ONE knows, NO ONE talks about but everyone needs to know about. DAB in the comfort of his own home is 8-2 mu over all with his extremely talented LAO/Kabal/Jax trio but is 1-9 MU against his nerves. I feel he will conquer his nerves and show the world what he is truly capable of. Let me tell you what he's capable of, NO LAO has ever given me trouble but PL and Tom Brady.....Now you may add DAB to the list who has perfected the MU beyond any other. IMO his lao is PL's level and his Jax isnt scared of Kenshi like some jax players and his Kabal is stupid good. If you sleep on DAB you will be sleeping early in your hotel room friday/saturday night and even if you prepare for him it'll most likely be a long day for you.
These are my 3 to watch and Ive been correct at all MLGs so far so you best listen up.
MLG Colombus - I encouraged Curbo to go and convinced his mom to take him
MLG Anaheim - I knew 16 bit would return to his dominant ways, EMP Scar would make waves and Denzel would return and show why I talk about him so much
MLG Raleigh - I told all about Clint and how him placing top 5 at UFGT was no fluke and how ATL scene is NOT just me, it's many of us. We are as good as we are because of each other. LET ALONE, I Was the most vocal about Showtime making top 8 regardless of who he played. BOOM, I was right.
