It isn't. And as a Kung Lao player I say I am relieved. Blocking high is the way to go.

We will know after evo who is the #1 but damn m2dave's track record is far superior today than other freddy's by far

So far M2DAVE is the superior and best freddy (PERIOD)

Vip3r and @burymeinblack will have their chances between next week and July

I'm wondering who performs better against Kung Lao: Freddy or Kenshi. Freddy has NMS and superior damage, but Kenshi has the armor.

Burymeinblack is a good player but plays too much rush down and takes advantage of too many sweet dreams gimmicks. Experienced players will blow him up for that.

I didn't know he was going to MLG and EVO. Anyway, he knows how to zone with Freddy and he's not entirely rushdown as you say 'too much'. From his quote he doesn't want to be compared to you as a duplicate Freddy who throws projectiles and claws the ground majority of an entire match, you play a pure zoning game with the characters you play like MKF30 (though he plays online only). Same can be said about a pure rushdown Kitana compared to a full on zoning Kitana, 2 different types of Kitana players but both know how to play rushdown and zoning. If one plays by zoning spamming projectiles entirely with no rushdown strong defense but bad offense. If one knows how to rushdown only, strong offense but low defense in space control and effective use of projectiles. Players need to know how to rushdown and zone strongly in both strategies. It all comes down to each player's unique playstyle yours is obviously a zoning Freddy Krueger, BuryMeinBlack is rushdown Freddy who knows how to zone and when to zone. Ex Sweet Dreams has armor so I've never seen him use the regular one when I've played him. I don't know if you can punish that since Ex Ground Claw on block seems damn safe. Freddy Krueger is a ridiculous character in the game, too many good tools for this character who doesn't even belong in MK >.'<

We're still on this? Zoning is not "scrubby" at all and people that complain about zoning don't know how to deal with it. But its beyond obvious to me as far as which one takes more skill. Obviously playing footsies/rushdown takes more skill, I don't believe that is a legitimate question IMO, but it's not to say good zoning is easy.
