are you really this ignorant? you think the sponsors are putting up this money just to advertise to the people that go to the event? lol, you don't have any idea how this stuff works. the stream is where the 10's of thousands of views come from, NOT THE PEOPLE AT THE EVENT...wow

I doubt it man. The last time I checked more people are participating in MK @MLG then the other 2 games. The viewers are about the same as the other games, but we had more participants which is pretty significant, $50 a person isn't chump change. Off MK alone MLG made $6,400. That's not including the other games. It's possible MLG will keep doing this and MK will be a part because of the participation. It's just people like you that complain about commercials the whole time that can create problems. If it weren't for those commercials someone wouldn't be walking away with $12,000 from playing a video game lol.

ok and what was the prize money for all this? between all the games like $60k? how much of a dent is that $6,400 going to make in just that...not to mention the staff, the venue, the electricity and the 9 million other things they need to pay for just to open the doors. this WILL BE the LAST MK event.... 100 is a joke to them, its a failure. and when the sponsors hear that they only reached 600 people with stream views... come on, use your head

Isn't it something nice for people like Sabin, 9.95 and all the rest to get paid for once? I know it's hard to ignore all the advertising, but that's the downside of the medal.
And I guess American people are already used to all this 'ad brainwashing' in sportscasts and regular TV. A trend I hope won't ever come to the EU, lol.

First of, insult me again and I will show you the exit door. I said nothing insulting to you. Secondly I know exactly how this works and again the streams themselves dont generate any revenue apart from the small percentage of people shelling out for the HD. I said nothing about the ads not being directed at stream viewers, I said the viewers dont generate any money. This is true.

Lastly, if its bothering you that much by all means, dont watch it. None of us will care.

What? First of all the MK player cap was 128 and we reached that. MLG set that cap not the sponsors....600 views? Have you not been watching? There's been thousands of viewers. Clearly Starcraft and Halo are the main events at MLG, but they wanna branch out. They knew if they didn't get a Capcom game numbers would be around this area, but they still want to establish a FG division. I'm pretty confident they'll move forward with this. Besides, the people that sponsored this are probably getting exposure all over MLG not just from the FG channel lol.
