Tutorial kind of hard in some sections

Is it just me or does anyone else find some of the tutorial kind of hard? Some of these moves sets they want me doing are extremely difficult. I've spent up to 30 mins trying to complete 1 move set and gave up. Are there some control settings that I could change that would help me?

Thanks for any feedback!

Oh, my days !
My only concern is kollektor's back, forward 2 cancel move. Is it a glitch? It's the only thing I've come across that can't be pulled off so far.

Some of them are messed up. I think kollector and Geras have the wrong things written down. If you were having trouble with the kollector cancel it’s down, down instead of forward forward. I ran into that one too.

Outside of wrong inputs being listed in the game, the difficulty of special cancels I chalk up to NRS not making their system better.

I still feel like special cancels would make more sense if you input as the last move connects rather than having to do it before. The buffering can just be so awkward.
Is a knock against the dial combo system I suppose.

The Tutorial is fine. Everything is 100% doable, you just have to execute it as intended. Keep working at it and use the video examples.

I am not sure if there are some wrong moves for the individual characters, but I haven't seen any in the 12 or so characters I have completed.

Good? Bad? I'm the one with the fans
I completed them all, but some are messed up following the updates. I posted this in another thread:

Positioning and Neutral - Grounded Neutral:

- At one point, the game asks you to “Observe the range of your attacks: Scorpion Sting (b4) has 13 frame start-up”. However b4 is out of range (even the demo misses). You can get lucky and connect it immediately after restarting your position.

Solution: you can bypass this by doing f4 to advance toward, then b4.

- At one point, the game asks you to, “Observe the range of the opponent’s attacks and block. Hold d+block”. However, holding down plus block puts you well outside of the low attack. If you don’t block, the attack connects for some reason.

Solution: you can progress if you flawless block the low attack.

Kitana tutorial - Fan Toss

- Misleading information. The opening tutorial states, “Fan Toss is a high projectile with fast start-up and recovery. It’s possible to kontinue a juggle kombo after Fan Toss hits an airborne opponent.” This is no longer true because the update increased the recovery of fan toss. It also states, “Amplfy Fan Toss to throw an additional mid projectile that can knock down the opponent.” The second fan is no longer a mid, it is a high just like the first.

Jax tutorial - Gotcha Grab

- At one point, the game asks you to, “Perform the Gotcha Grab kombo: db1,3,2,1” which is meant to put the dummy in the corner. However, upon doing the task as demonstrated, the tutorial does not proceed.

Solution: execute db1,3,2,1 to put them in the corner, then execute db1,111 and the game will proceed.

- Misleading information: the section directly after the above tells you to, “Perform the Gotcha Grab kombo to bounce the opponent in the corner: db1,2,2,4. However, pressing any button after two hits from Gotcha Grab results in an overhead punch.

In order to proceed, you must walk your opponent to the corner with db1,2,2,4 then perform db1,2,4.

Kollector tutorial - Demonic Mace

- at one point, the game asks you to dash cancel out of Demonic Mace. However, the game will not let you cancel out of it with a dash. Even the demo fails to execute it.

Solution: instead of dash canceling, just cancel it normally by pressing d,d while holding 2.

yeah that scorpion one where b1 is out of range is definitely busted. Also i must have did skarlet's flawless block reversal about 50 times before it didnt trade. That was a bit ridiculous.

Overall i think its one of the better aspects of the game and I enjoyed it

It really IS a tutorial that builds up basic skills though it doesn't tell you things like if a move doesn't connect try doing it a split second earlier or later for example. A good tip to try is that if you feel that one trial is too hard, try going back a trial or two and practice those until they become easier. A lot of the time churning out one of those just once and then moving on is not enough and the natural way the tutorial advances if you succeed is not always beneficial to your practice.

Be patient. The one where you have to PB low with Baraka against Skarlet and then blow her up took me 20 minutes first try. It's definitely not easy, but I've completed the tutorial and it's perfectly doable.

I only show up when a new game's around
The only one I got real stressed out was Baraka and Skarlet one where you have to flawless block her second attack with D + R2.

It took me 40+ tries and when I got it the U2 didn't land :p

It's broken flat out in some sections, I said days ago the advantage section with last Flawless block kounter U2 is busted, I've actually got it to come out and as Skarlet kicks Baraka's string literally pushes me back. So dumb....not a bit lose though as nobody uses it lol. Watched tons of vids from casual matches to intermediate to "pro" players and rarely in fact I can't remember last time I saw one being used. FB regularally yes, wake ups, rolls, break aways etc, etc all yes but FB kounter? Hell no lol.

This was absolutely the hardest one for me. After about 15 minutes, I ended up Perfect Blocking her first attack, then did the ducking Perfect Block and the Counter, but the Tutorial didn't pass me! I figure since I wasn't supposed to Perfect Block the first hit, that's why.

So I kept trying and no dice, and finally decided to go by the sounds she was making, with my eyes closed. Got it after two or three tries without looking! Dumb luck there.

I didn't give up so easily, I went and replicated the success five times and still might go back and do it. Not that FBing online is as "easy" as offline.

I have kind of a dumb question and this the best place I could think of posting it. I'm trying to practise KB combos but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make AI to constantly hit one move (like S1 or S3). I go AI options in practise, but the only things I can set is block mode, movement mode, reversal, etc, and make the opponent throw our special moves as punish. How do I set it to normal attacks?

Have you tried the Record option? You then take control of the AI character and make them do what you want, like a standing 2. End the recording, and they'll keep doing it.

This is false. There are several bugs within the tutorials. If you haven't done them all, you can't really just assume "they're fine". You literally have to do different inputs than they say on screen for some to be completed.

I hope that gets corrected in a future patch, as overall, the Tutorial System is very detailed and quite robust.
