they are very clever.

  1. release microtransaction bullshit, prices are 200%
  2. wait for the angry people to show up
  3. release microtransaction bullshit, prices now are 150%
  4. people will be happy and u still make a ton of cash
All facts no printer. I wholeheartedly believe they anticipated backlash and planned on fixing it in 2-3 weeks so they can scam some money but with the amount of outrage, they decided to fix it ASAP. No way they didn't see this coming. Every single review has made this a note to talk about, they're not this stupid.

And they literally did the same thing for IJ2. Like wtf?

I didn't pre order so I just paid for Shao Kahn in PSN store for $5.99. Kahn is my main right now since he's the only one I've used outside of Story Mode.

I want to unlock all of the shit though; so, It may change!!

I'm still lost on what the fuck to do to unlock everything.

Last night in the Krypt I went through all of room 1; and room 2. Then I went over the the area with the green lights on the dead bodies and died trying to play the lever game.

I completed 100% of the first two areas though. Should I wait until they fix the prices of these damn crates....or should I just keep going since I'mma be playing anyway?

Im very, very mixed on this.

On one side NRS has put their heart and soul into this game and provided us with one of the best fighting games ever. It also must be heartbreaking to put in all this work/overtime and see your fan base so vocal and upset.

On the other side the loot box always online Krypt, the incredible mobile like grind has absolutely no place in a full retail price game. I'm also a little dissapointed in the variety of some womens clothing and the disparity beteen men and women in a game that seems afraid of sexuality (and its past) but revels in hyper violence.

The way forward is to acknowledge problem of the grind/microtrasactions, not put it down to a bug or a fix. I'll respect the artistic choices mentioned above, it that's what they now believe. While been slightly dissapointed, I wont and do not expect/demand any changes in this regard. Although I will say user choice is rarely a bad thing, users asking for more variety in womens clothing are by enlarge not asking for anything too extreme (those people that are, are few and far between).

WB may have put them in this situation (understandably we'll never know, unless they part ways) but as developer NRS has to take responsibility for the situation. The best thing they can do is a complete 180, take out microtransactions completley in the weeks and month's to come (apart from maybe a full krypt unlock, easy fatalities etc).

Lets not pretend a multi-million selling game with season pass(s) and pre order characters needs microtransactions anyways. God of War, Horizon and Spiderman have shown this time and time again to not be the case.

NRS you have created an AMAZING game with a big monetry mistep that led to customers feeling like you have taken advantage of them. Make it right, enjoy the rewards of making an top tier game in a credible way and be back on form as the best studio in the fighting game industry.

We fight this hard because we care <3

Totally agree with everything you've said, however, I don't think anyone here is blaming the people who actually busted their asses at NRS for what's going on right now. At the end of the day. I don't even think Ed Boon himself has any control over how the economy in this game works.

The developers at NRS have outdone themselves. The audio and visuals of this game are WITHOUT equal in any fighter to date. The new concepts they've come up with are once again completely new and moving the gameplay in the right direction.

NRS has always been the good guys to us. As you said, we are concerned about the state of the game because we love MK. We want it to succeed. I get sick of defending it daily on cesspools like r/kappa, and now they're mouths are watering at all the negative feedback NRS is getting.

We simply want fun and reasonable ways to unlock the content in this game. Hopefully those at NRS understand this.

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
I don't know why but when I saw "Emergency Kombat Kast" I kind of laughed a little. :D It's funny how NRS made the most powerful characters Cetrion, Raiden etc mid to low tier lol. I trust they'll be getting buffs if not already in the works.

Exactly, well said. They know which criticism to listen to that comes from players who want this game to do well. It's crazy that MK11 is jam-packed with things but the most fun I've had is labbing and playing online. I want to enjoy the single player aspect of it as well, I paid for it, we all did and we want our money's worth.

I partly agree. I mean as the artist/studio head he has to stand up for his studio and see through his vision. Alot more games would be like MK11 is if it was soley up to the publishers. I imagine there have been some hard calls the last 24 hours between NRS and WB.

Both companies are taking a hit here. NRS are on the front lines so to speak. Their value as a game company will decrease in the long term if the value fans put in their games decreases. I don't know about any of you but id certainly be alot more weary about pre ordering their next game after this current fiasco, despite loving the core game so much.

I have blindly pre-ordered every NRS game the first day it became available.

I pre-ordered for Shao Kahn, and now the game is already on sale for cheaper than it would be if I bought it today and purchased Shao Kahn separately.

NRS was one of the last developers I trusted with my money. With all the complaints on here about the roster and various other things, I vehemently supported them and always had the same primary thought in my posts - trust NRS.

It's very hard to trust them now.

Fujin!
I feel like the Towers of Time could be fixed pretty easily if they would just give you more Koins on completion and would hand out important Konsumables and Augments more often. Like there are Konsumables that will completely disable modifiers for you. If we had more of those, some of these Towers wouldn't be that big of a deal.

I'm not sure if I need to reset my game or if the towers are still fucked up. Because I'm getting my ass handed to me by rockets and MK2-level input reads still. I can't get the upper hand, even with konsumables in some cases, and most fights are an uphill, frustrating affair. This is no bueno... -.-

I'm not the best player in the world, but I'm also not the worst, either.
