"soul steal bug"??

ok so just watched the finals of nec there and there was talk of a soul steal bug? could someone explain this to me in bit more detail?

(by the way the final is the only match ive watched so far so if the "bug" comment was a running joke/troll comment like with reo and his "winbox" im sorry for posting this)

It's random and not completely reliable, but if you can net the soul steal at the end, might as well go for it.

Probably cuz this is the first MK that they really focused on making tournament worthy. So i guess they don't have a whole lot of experience in designing a tournament worthy game. I really believe if they stay focused and involved with the tourney scene like they have been, that future MK games will have less problems.

It doesn't go for the whole round. It only lasts a short period of time.

I wouldnt even say this is that broken, soul steal gets you a damage boost anyway, so carrying it over the round is reasonably fair right, would it be fair to not give you your damage boost even though you landed a soul steal? I can see why this is unfair in some eyes but its not like you dont start the round in neutral positions and can play safe til it wears off?

it is very old news

if you land an SS immediately after winning the first round with an SS, the damage boost stacks (i'm more than sure it does, but i never got to test it again before my ps3 exploded). same thing goes with shang mirrors, but i never got to test that either.

it's only logical that it would carry to the next round. even so it just guarantees some chip damage, or even a mistake. it's not dependable.

as for the actual "bug" (it lasting 90 seconds), i've never seen it or had it happen to me

Great start-up tho, Maybe reduce the start up slightly in return for the recovery. Baraka is one of the few characters that got exactly what he needed from the patches and took away what he didn't.

yea the start up is ok,
but disagree raka got everything he needed in patches so far,if they fixed recovery on spark and b3,1 was safe he'd have what he needs

Safe 50/50s are broken. F31 shouldn't be safe.

LK's is different, F4(or 3) doesn't grant a full combo, it is more of a check, Scorpion also has those safe 50/50 options. The reward for safe 50/50s are never great (except for Freddy, broken pedophile)

The description in the link has nothing to do with what I used (wnning with a SS). He talks about using SS then immediately lose the round.. Big difference
