Soul Calibur 6: THE SOUL STILL BURNS!

If anyone didn't see the SC6 top 8 here ya go -

When i saw her i was like "YES TEMP!!! TEMP IS IN!!!" see in October brew!
MAN O MAN was this shit Righteous! What I took from this is that Ivy is looking OP with that full screen command grab, but Yoshimitzu with that full screen super is a huge threat! Wasn't really checking for those characters in the past SC but they're looking really good in this version.

Probably not, keep in mind Ivy's Summon Suffering isnt techable due to the very complicated and batshit crazy input it has, it's part of the balancing for her.
Its not really an issue to me, I learned that shit back in sc2 and can pull it off in a split second. "difficulty" of a motion shouldn't be a reason to make a move strong or not.

Actually that's a very good reason why it should be strong. Just because you in particular can pull it off very easily that doesn't mean it shouldn't be strong, especially for newcomers who don't have the same experience as yours in SC games.

Just cause I have more dexterity than someone else doesn't mean my move should be better than one someone else can do.

Like who knows about Asta anyways but if Ivy has the only unbreakable throw in the game and Asta doesn't have any its just incredibly odd to me.

Hey I didnt say the balancing was necessarily sound that's just how it is. Also, I think rewarding execution is a fairly good thing to do and having that move be so strong is an example of that. If it didnt do anything particularly special outside of other command grabs, what's the point?

Once again it's the whole counter balancing thing dude.

Exactly.

So the game has been shown off and available for play enough to have some idea of what to expect. Is there any utility in playing one of the past couple of games to try and get a sense of how to play S.C. in the general sense? Or would it just be better to wait until October for the actual game?

I played 1&2 way back when, but it was in an "I'll just hit buttons" sort of way. I have 4&5 and could hook up the old 360. I know they are toilet flushing all the 5 characters, so it wouldn't be learning characters.

I'm still really into Tekken right now, so I might not even be able to muster up enough motivation, but I also don't want to be Mr. Ignorant when the game drops.

Ok. I may give it a go soon.

5 is running in the bedroom so it's pretty easy to get a hold of. 2 and 3 would take some effort.

As in I have an Xbox360 in the bedroom with SCV on it.

Not really sure what you are getting at. I'm going to assume you think I prefer to use the colorful glow of a video game over something more classic like candlelight for mood lighting.

Maybe you're wrong, maybe you're right. I'll never tell.

What a day. What a lovely day.
Just need Viola/Amy (even as DLC) to make this roster perfect for me.

Granted, a sai user would be nice, but that’s clearly never going to happen :(

Zwei and Viola were the two best things to come out of SCV, if maybe the only two things. Considering the timeline for SCVI, they are not viable to be on the main roster, but I would absolutely love it if they became DLC. ♥

I'll pass on Zwei, Viola, and even Raphael. Link from Zelda has a better chance in making it to the roster than those three lol

has a better chance
HAH, absolutely not.
Link was a guest character. Raphael, Zwei and Viola are characters within the franchise. Unless SCVI will be on the Switch, which doesn't seem to be the case, Link has no chance to be in the game.

However, the moment SCVI is announced for the Switch, then it would be a viable chance.

I'm probably going to catch flack for saying this, but I liked a lot of the alt cast in V.

I played Link a bunch in SC2. I bought a GameCube just so I could import the game 2 months before us release. He Was a good time. I'm sure he is gone for good though.
