Injustice 2's Biggest Downfalls, which could be easily fixed

So far, I'm loving Injustice 2. Imo, it is hands down the best product NRS has released to date. However, there are a few things that have caused me many headaches in trying to work out what NRS were thinking, and I know that many people agree with me. These are also things that I think there are easy solutions to.

Major issues:

1. There being no default competitive mode player match

This is the biggest issue above all else. And probably the easiest to fix.

I know a lot of people think that competitive mode should be the default mode in all online game modes in I2, and that stats/abilities should have to be opted in by both players. However, I can see why NRS didn't do this. People with competitive play in mind are the minority. Most people who bought I2 will spend lots of time grinding for the most powerful gear for their favourite character, and would not be happy with this being rendered useless by something that's at the mercy of their opponent.

But there's an easy compromise. Please give us a separate competitive player match mode where we can go in and find like minded players. One and done ranked matches are not an acceptable substitute. Saying "just add people who also want to play without gear" is not an acceptable solution; you can't always rely on people on your friends list being available to play at the same time as you, that's the whole point of player match rooms.

2. The input system

Everyone is having issues here. Even with negative edge and input shortcuts turned off, it seems that the buffer window is far too big.
One example is pressing b,d,b can result in a backdash. Surely that should never happen?

Less Major issues:

1. Not being able to fight against AI loadouts

This probably isn't seen as a huge issue, but is a personal gripe of mine. Unless I'm missing something, there's no way to do this? I'd have thought that this would have been the source of inspiration for whomever designed this.

Surely it would be hugely beneficial, for example, to be able to set Deadshot to 30 runaway, 30 zoning and fight against that play style? I assumed I'd be able to do this in practice mode or player matches, but nope.

2. Gear/brother eye organisation

Getting past the annoyance of having to go through and mass sell gear items every now and again due to the awkward inventory management system, there's something even more annoying and unintuitive about the system.

It doesn't make any sense having the regen option in the brother eye section or not being able to preview items before selling/regenerating gear.

Currently, you have to go to customise character, find the gear you want to regenerate, note down their names, exit character customisation, go to brother eye, change tabs, find the character, try and remember whether you liked the look of Scarecrow's fortified scary pants of terror or his frightening pants of horror, realise you can't remember and go back and start the process again before realising you don't actually give a shit anymore.

Why can you not just press regenerate or sell item while actually previewing that gear item in customise character?

This is not a buff/nerf thread. Get out if you want to post about that.

Very much this, especially with slower normals in strings. Like if you press 22xxdb2 too fast with scarecrow, even with negative edge off, you get 2xxdb2 instead.

THIS!

The reason I don't play player matches is because some people will not turn gear off and that is quite annoying to me, having to play ranked in single games is nit my favorite thing to do but I hope they give us a competitive player mode.

The gear system is amazing, however, I think we shouldn't be limited to 100 gear pieces per character and 20 overflow slots since gear drops like hot pancakes and yeah, having to learn a gear name to sell it is quite frustrating as well... I would like a bigger slot space for gear and overflow and an option to watch gear when it's on your overflow/inventory.

Like with Injustice 1, I still think Interactables are the worst thing about Injustice 2. So many of them are imbalanced, randomly placed, irrationally designed, cause some MUs to be dumber than they should, etc.
I think it's funny how their explanation to some of them being unblockable was "how the hell do you block a car?" yet, we are playing a game where people can block bullets and eye lasers... Like being realistic was actually a thing in a superhero fighting game.

Also, why doesn't competitive mode stay on in koth? When creating an online match or room that should be one of the options.

Does anyone know why your offline friend doesn't have access to your gear? Tournament mode seems to either no gear or random gear and no one has the time to grind it out on two accounts.

I hadn't thought of fighting ai loadouts, but yea that would be really nice!

KOTH's are basically irrelevant now since every match, BOTH players must decide on competitive, and I've had so many scrubs agree to competitive then very quickly swap at the last second and press X/A.

Also being able to sell gear as soon as you open it should be a thing, so annoying having to scroll through each character's loadouts and remember which ones to sell.

Also, fuck ambiguous cross ups :)

The blade of osh-tekk is stale.
They need to add a quick open mother box option. Also increase the reward for guild towers. I'm not gonna sit there and do 12 fights for 2 bronze boxes. LET US TRADE GEAR PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! I feel so bad for my friend that plays robin with very little cool gear, I'm never gonna touch the character but have 5 epic swords. He's got shit I want, capitalism.

In tournament mode, please allow us to use some of our gear loadouts. It really bugs me that I will basically never get to play my Jon Stewart/Power Girl/Reverse Flash/Vixen premier skins in offline sets.

Plus, some of the randomized gear loadouts look kinda crap. Nobody wants to watch olive Batman vs orange Superman.

So, because I know this has gone unnoticed for many people, when looking at characters/gear, you can tab to the right with bumpers.

This allows you to sell things (ANG GET RID OF THAT OBNOXIOUS FLASHING) much faster

Firestorms bd2 is a literal nightmare

I'm glad I'm not the only one getting boned by that move. I played Mileena for four years and Deathstroke for two and I still can't get a molten trap in the heat of the moment to save my life! Pun intended

As it relates to layout and ease of access, the game is not organized well at all.
Conceptually, everything is great. However, once you get over the brand new game smell, those great concepts sometimes feel like chores.
Calling the input system "too tight" is wrong. I'm not really sure how else to describe it. I don't necessarily have to be accurate with my inputs in order to get rewarded. But I also get punished for being too accurate at times. This (in and of itself) makes certain characters who would otherwise be great pickups unplayable.

If I could also make mention of something I make a separate post about later:
I often feel like I'm playing a character at half of its potential. Not due to any fault of my own, but due to the lack of customization for competitive play. There are SO many great abilities that some character need in order to compete. It'd also give players more ownership of their characters.
