Does Injustice HAVE to die?

I know a lot of you guys that really love Injustice and understand it are just letting it go without a whimper. I know there's a lot of people who unconditionally hate Injustice simply because they haven't learned it as well as some or because they think it's lame because it's not blood and guts everywhere, but hear me out.

Watching some of the later tourney matches in 2015 Injustice has been some of the most incredibly entertaining match footage I've ever seen in a fighting game. This for example

Matches like these just aren't ever gonna happen again if we just let our skills fade away and never touch the game again. So c'mon TYM, Injustice is still a young, dynamic game with plenty of potential. Just give it a chance.

The narrative is that Injustice is a game with no footsies, which is solely based around 50/50's and jumping.

And yet everyone embraces MK X whose meta involves getting a hard knock down and applying a 50/50 mix up that is typically safe and loops into itself.

People will tell you that Batgirl was broken and unfair, all the while so few scenes had a dedicated, highly skilled Batgirl to regularly train against. They will tell you that Martian Manhunter was broken, even though he had even match ups and was NOT as bad as Kabal, and even though only one guy ever won anything major with the character.

Injustice is dead because it wasn't MK. Too many false narratives and loud voices with agendas hurt the game when it wasn't outright being dismissed for not being apart of the MK franchise.

I'll miss my zod. Even though I was really good at fighting Martian I'm glad I never have to yell at the green bean crap.

I wish it stayed but.. Well you go online before mkx was out and there's no one playing it anymore, it lost all its online players.

The game died. I'm very sad about that. My first fighting game.

The poor game never stood a chance, if only we didn't take her for granted.

I'd much rather have a Batgirl have to work to get me in the corner than being shredded by an Erron Black who has safe 50/50s that catch you on a tech roll, tick throws that cause a hard knockdown and in general just getting hard knockdowns by breathing

Never said it'd happened, but Injustice was only a timekiller for most people. If MK9 wasn't broken as hell and NRS had more than one MK game that was a competent competitive fighter, there's at least a decent chance people would still be playing both.
That's why hopefully MKX and Inj2 get played side by side. I'd like to live in that world.

I think the biggest problem is that this (MKX) is only the 3rd NRS game with even a passing notion of being made for competitive play. MK9 was fun as all get out but pretty busted. Injustice was super fun too, but still had just a little too much wrong with it, and a community that was too young do it right anyway. Now we've been through this twice, and have a game that, so far, is a decent tournament game. If Inj2 is an improvement then we're all good, I have faith it will be.

Add characters to promote upcoming DC films, balance a little bit, add money to tournament pools, rinse and repeat. This and any game can go on for a few extra years until part 2 arrives. Just ask Capcom.

gotta take it to make it
Yes.

I say we make mkx so huge that they have to put the next injustice game on hold and capitalize on the mkx following. Or so they do injustice 2 anyway but have to do constant upgrades(SF style) until mk11 comes out.

After playing MK9 and IGAU I've come to realize its not that I can't play 2 fighting games at once, its just that after playing the game for 2 years it eventually gets boring to the point where I have no intention of playing. The same will probably happen with MKX.

Injustice is kind of like Marvel, in a way. The characters have a lot of really powerful options that seem broken on the outside but once you learn everything 100% the game is actually pretty fair and even. But that's really just not what a lot of people are going to do for a new IP for characters they may or may not think are lame, before tossing the game aside.

Like it kills me at how Evo 2014 people where booing the game at first then cheering as more and more cool stuff went on. It's really sad when you think about it.

My biggest, and huge problem with injustice was the shitty wake up timing! That is the only reason I'll never fire it up again! Shazam!

???? You could literally mash and your wakeup will always come out... Are you saying mkx is better in terms of wakeups? Lol

I would still play it, problem is my 360 doesn't work and I don't own it for PC. But hey if anyone wants to gift me a copy I'd love to play it on pc too. ;)

I actually like the game more than MKX so far, characters were far more interesting to me in Injustice and I enjoy back to block much more. 90% of the matchups I see on streams for MKX to me are dull as fuck. Of course that might change as more characters are released and more variations and tech are discovered but at it's core it's weaker.

It'll die off though competitively simply because people don't have time to focus on both, one will naturally get put on the backburner due to our limited time, attention span and interest.

I think to myself daily how much I miss playing Grundy, it's a shame NRS didn't apply what they learned with grapplers in Injustice and use it in MKX. They toned it back down to MK9 level grappler.
