And honestly, iconic characters should have their iconic specials and moves transfer to other fighters, it's a core part of what makes a character awesome and unique. I don't remember any complaints about Raiden, Scorpion, Kitana Sub-Zero, Kano etc having some of the same moves from previous games at least not on the large scale Reptile has these complaints for MKX so I dunno why it's suddenly unacceptable for Reptile.

That could be because Reptile is annoying to fight against.

The one thing I think people forget is that the ninjas were pallete swap ninjas to deal with memory limitations. Had that not been a factor, most of them wouldn't even have anything remotely ninja in design except for Scorpion and the Lin Kuei members. The rest have no connection to ninjas other than look.

My only disappointment with Reptile is the forceball.
MK9 forceball was perfect, it had an amazing graphic and animation.
This one looks like a weird egg sac.

Upon re-watching I hope his acid puddle functions like the spitter goo in L4D2. The longer you're in it the higher the damage gets, could give some cool corner stuff.

Yeah could be, but I won't judge him, or any character, on a video. Scorpion looked terrible in his MK9 trailer but he was fine in the final product, so I'll reserve judgement until I can get my hands on the final game.

Rewatching the vid, I didn't see any cuts or editing jumps to denote a switch in Variations. It surely seems like we only saw one of Reptile's three variations. Curious as to what else he may have.

This move looks like a new special move to me. It appears he puts in an input like d,f or d,b something before he launches. Perhaps its a new anti projectile move that leaves the player at a hard knockdown because you'll notice he puts down the acid carpet right after, but the opponent uses the delayed wakeup.

Edit. I also believe the EX Spit carpet move is just the regular acid spit but EX version. If you slow it down you see that the start up animation is the same, and when the flash that signifies a meter has been burned flashes, that's when the end of the animation turns into an altered move.

At least Mileena seems to have a important part of the story, where Reptile still seems to be a dog who jumped from Shao Kahn to Kotal Kahn

With Scorpion giving Subzero the uppercut of death in MK9 start menu, Tom getting Subzero nerf to oblivian, and Subzero getting the first fatality in MKX, I've come to the conclusion that NRS don't like Ice people.

Has anyone else noticed how much slower projectiles both start up and travel in this game?

I'm super excited about that, less projectiles and more running should hopefully change how this meta evolves pretty differently from MK9/Injustice. Now if all projectiles interact then we'll really be in business. If anyone has an airdash in this game then they get insta-mained!

I was kind of expecting more shenanigans and tools after some of the other stuff we've seen. Maybe a character breakdown later would be good. For all I know that character's styles could involve stat boosting his speed or something.

Right 3 million. and of those 3 million the online game stats showed ermac being used more. Im done, ive made my point. Ermac is just as popular as reptile if not more. Quit trollin, your starting to look as bad as reptiles trailer. Have fun with the least hype character to date

You're seriously trying to make a case that the Godfather of hidden characters in the fighting game genre, who has also appeared in several iterations of non-game related MK media is less well-known than a "hey, why not?" palette swap?

Hmm...I know of at least one thing I'd be doing. Puking acid on folks the second I score a knockdown and fishing for setups when they get up. For a moment I thought Reptile's tongue thing might be like Lobo or Shazam's grabs but it looks like it was part of his normal throw animation. Be cool if I was wrong though and it was a neat little command grab.

Really would like a character breakdown soon for his styles.

I think everybody is trippin. It doesn't really matter if you think the trailer is "MEH" or not....all of you are STILL going to buy the game and play it day 1 so lol
We all love Mortal Kombat so stop complaining and enjoy whatever content they release.
Game looks sick to me and I'm still waiting on Big Mac and Killa Kang!
