How would you have commentated this match then. Revolver didnt get to play the game for the most part. Also P2W took the mic from CO2. Its really hard commentating one sided matches. At least In my opinion it is. Sorry i couldnt provide the best commentary in the world for everyone.
My issue is strictly with this match. I agree it's not an easy situation but the commentary was all over the place. For starters, there was way too much yelling. And I figured P2W took the mic. I'm pretty sure you guys didn't ask him to give his thoughts. Nevertheless, it was all too chaotic.

We'll burn you all—that is your fate!
Honestly you have nothing to apologize for.
Remember 2013 EVO? Even they admitted you just can't provide real commentary when all you have to work with is "f.23 followed by, you guessed it, f.23"
Basically this. There wasn't anything to commentate on. "he's going to do IAZB's until he gets in, at which point he'll just laser him full screen again". The only thing they were able to commentate on was when the match deviated in some way from that predetermined pattern because someone made a mistake.
Thats why me and CO2 said to just get a drink or food.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh................................There was yelling cause revolver got to do something. And we didnt ask P2W for thoughts on the Match.

I'll tell you what, do a shoutcast of the match and post it up on youtube.
Lets see how much insightful info you can draw out of the match when literally 70% of it is iazb with Lex walking forward 2 steps.

The only chaotic part was when the 30% where Lex got to do something happened.

So the solution to that is to go "look how instant they are" x 20?

Well as I said in the quote right above that, I welcome you to find something else to talk about.
When all you have is iazb, what else is there to talk about outside of iazb?
Would you prefer them sit there in awkward silence or talk about non-match related things?

Nah you're right. "this is the worst match-up ever" x 20 is awesome commentary. Point it out, as you should, but repeating that over and over and over is almost as tedious as watching the match-up itself.

Also, you just made the silly argument we all hate. "If you don't like it prove you can do better." Uh no. I wouldn't offer or accept to commentate because I don't think I'd do a good job. If you go to a restaurant and your meal is awful, you don't shut up about it because you can't do better. You have the right to point it out.

So that's the other solution?

The point is, you don't have to acknowledge every single Zod ball. Like, after about the 10th time, we get it. They're very instant and this is a horrendous match-up.

I mean i could have been emo and said how well looks like revolver cant play. Dam. So ya this tournament is fun. Things are good. Im sick. So CO2 congrats on getting top 8. Oh Relaxed messed up. Wait MB laser nvm. So were do we want to get food that is not denny's

It was basically either that or "so... anyone see that episode of Gotham last night? It was aight..."
Or provide a back story about Rev0lver's awful luck in having to deal with Zods at every tournament, mention how at first he didn't think the match-up was that bad, until Hitbox Zod happened. Mention his thread that blew up on TYM, etc... Talk about how Zod could be patched (not because an actual patch is going to happen, but to explain how this could be solved in theory) to avoid this, etc... This should fill-up some 2 minutes or so. Doesn't that sound better? Insight isn't just about offering match-up analysis, especially in a hopeless match-up.

Like yeah, I'm sorry, there are million ways to do this. A commentator's job is not solely based on describing every piece of action. At least, one of them should have been doing the above while the other does play-by-play. I really don't think this is that big of a deal but sorry, no, I'm not going to believe this is the only thing they could have done.

Dude, this really isn't a big deal. Don't be so defensive. It was a difficult situation but the commentary was not good for this match. It happens. It's fine.

No one cares about Revolver's shit luck, not everyone watching goes to TYM, whats the point in making up dreams. It sounds worse. I'd rather hear pseudo-props on relaxedstate's low hanging balls.

lol it's called a backstory. The point is not to create fairy tale. In fact, you actually made the point for me. Not everyone watching goes to TYM, so you familiarize them with the players and the backstory when there is one.

I'm sure they'd rather be familiar with Relaxedstate dropping his balls than anything to do with Revolver.

This isn't about zoning in general. This is about a very specific case of "zoning" that goes too far- which in this case is the effectiveness of IAZB's against Lex to create a near-impossible matchup.

You are acting like the backlash against Zod's IAZB's are a backlash against zoning in general, which is so far from the truth. This is just a case that shouldn't be in the game.

Just because something requires skills, like Zod's IAZB doesn't make it ok if the result is it COMPLETELY IGNORES the skill of the other player. The other player should ALWAYS be a factor, or else it's not even a competition. It's like hitting a tennis ball against a brick wall- no matter what you do, you lose, and your skills are completely ignored. Lex is basically that person- playing Tennis against a wall. There's nothing he could do to win, as a result of Zod being able to do something that he doesn't even need to be able to zone effectively against much of the cast.

Well then how come scrubs and stream monsters only really cry when a tool breaks the game but the its a zoning tool.

I dont see them crying about Batgirl, Bane, JC, sonnya, vergil etc.

Dude its not just because its a zoning tool it's literally because he can't fucking move, you must have seen the gif of him moving like 1/8th of the screen after going past like 7 balls. Then getting lasered back because of the copious amounts of meter he's getting from the slow balls.

This is not a knock on zoning from me either, i'm part of the minority that enjoy watching good zoning. But zoning with full screen frame traps, baiting movement and forcing your opponent to make mistakes is far different from firing endless zod balls at an opponent whose mobility is so poor for him to reach zod he has to move centimetre by centimetre

Bad MUs are part of fighting games.

I dont see people crying when Bane knocks Batman down and he has 0 options of getting back up without getting full combo punished. He gets punished even if he guesses right. What type of shit is that? But yeah its a rush down tactics so scrubby stream monsters dont mind it.

At least the batman player has the option to block and also he can parry bane so your wrong there mate. The difference is both players have options and get to play. Lex can't do shit, he moves forward enough just to get pushed back by a laser and has to start again. This isn't just a bad match up it's a fucking diabolical match up. I see where you are coming from though. I don't get why everyone is so anti zoning though. I love watching the keepaway game and how smart zoners keep their opponents at a distance and maintain space.
