This logic is dumbfounding. What happens if you're not as informed about a subject as you would like to be? You research and defer to "experts." In this case, clearly, the most qualified opinion about the character is NOT Ra Helios (unless you'd like to debate that), but rather, GGA 16 Bit. Now, when you take that into consideration, combined with the discrepancy in the reliability of evidence put forth by both parties, the logic that they both advance, and their credentials/experience with the character, you can't actually blame anyone for taking 16 Bit's opinion over Ra. Especially because, in the end, while we don't play Catwoman, we can actually tangibly see 16 Bit's arguments unfold through actual gameplay, whereas Ra's are a bunch of debatable theory fighting and even more debatable online exploits.Just because another Catwoman player think she is in a different tier is not a reason to Lynch a guy. I am stuck here with these debates. 16 Bit and "others" who have not been named say she is C-. I honestly have no idea where Catwoman goes because I don't play her. Most people posting here aside from Bit and Helios are in the same boat. That means we are really all uninformed, or siding with someone elses opinion. If we are siding with someone elses opinion, then I don't think we can argue the matchup. Only Bit can since he is the only one that carries weight with it.
Even then, if he does argue it until he is blue in the face, Helios is probably still going to say she is in a different tier because he believes just as strongly as Bit does.
100% untrue. We've all actually discussed gameplay before, including match-up specific gameplay (and others, such as Wound Cowboy and Max, who play characters in which match-ups were in question chimed in). It's just that this has been going on for so long that nobody will bother relaying the same points over and over, because well, why bother?Everyone arguing against RA is not really giving matchup breakdown knowledge or discussing why she belongs in C. They are saying that 16 Bit says she belongs there, therefore she is.
When did Ra lie about starting yet or his hours? He said he had to get up at 4:30 in the morning to get ready for work not that he starts at 4:30. Go back and check the post. Ra has barely been online the last week or so and when I asked Murk about it, he said Ra started working.Wait wait wait, what's with this ganging up thing. I'm asking him why doesn't he go to locals. He says he works from 4:30 to 9pm. I question the logic of the post. @EMPR_MURK comes and clears things up even though RaHelios lied about the hours, and the fact that he hasn't started yet.
How is that ganging up? How is questioning the logic of some statements ganging up @Eldriken
Also if you're willing to take a 3 hour bus to go to work every day, why hasn't he been willing to take one to go to a local in the past year and a half?
2-84-6 and 3-7s are "not that bad" in Green Arrow terms
Their opinion holds more weight than yours.
I read all of this, and cannot fathom what it had to do with my post. One may call it...irrelevant.No, actually, we can't. Considering he never downplayed Kitana (it's funny because you'll point out that he used to, except it was interpreted as downplaying because he was saying she wasn't top 5, which was later proven to be true, so yeah), or Killer Frost when he first played her.
By your logic everyone has a reason to downplay their character so the people who ostensibly should have the most trustworthy opinion about a character (ie the most successful representatives), are actually not because they have reasons to downplay in order to inflate their credentials and skill levels?
Can we just admit people who side with Ra Helios or rationalize his claims (which genuinely lack any substance or logic, regardless of poor grammar) are his online training partners or people who have issues with his main rivals? Yeah, I think we can all (and by all I mean excluding the gang that sides with Ra) agree on that.
PS: Anyone who calls what's going on with Ra "bullying" is reaaaaaaally using the term loosely. It's actually an insult to people who actually get bullied. And yes, I'm aware of Cyberbullying and no, this is not it.
I just hate the mentality that there is only one voice per character. That is silly IMO.This logic is dumbfounding. What happens if you're not as informed about a subject as you would like to be? You can take the "neutral" road by saying "why does it matter?" but yeah, this is nothing but a copout that is meant to justify idiocy (talking about Ra here, not you).

Even if the PS was not directed at you (it wasn't), please, don't let it slide if you have an issue with it. You actually think this is bullying? If yes, tell me why. If no, you have nothing to let slide since you agree with me.I read all of this, and cannot fathom what it had to do with my post. One may call it...irrelevant.
We are not talking about Mk9, I never said everyone had a reason to downplay their character, and no we can't agree with that because it is a blanket statement created by you on a point I did not bring up.
I understand the PS: was not directed towards me so I will let that slide.
True as much I really wanna go to tournament a lot, school and job comes first before any game tournaments. When did Ra lie about starting yet or his hours? About going to a local...what do you think he finds more important? His job or going to a local? Sure, it would do him justice to take his ass out to a local to try and prove everything that he's claimed, but priorities come first.
Well, to be fair to @Cossner, Ra hasn't always had a job the last year and a half or so, so he DOES have a point to an extent. I can't deny that.True as must I really wanna go to tournament a lot, school and job comes first before any game tournaments.
If you and others feel its ok to bash ra for saying CW is a higher tier, thn its 100% ok for him to continue to "upplay" her until you're blue in the face but remember...he will keep defending his character, he will keep trash talking the guys on here (on a gaming level), and he will keep posting his infamous grammatical errors. This logic is dumbfounding. What happens if you're not as informed about a subject as you would like to be? You research and defer to "experts." We can absolutely have more than one voice. I wouldn't say 16 Bit is the only one qualified to talk about her. Anyone who plays her offline and has extensive match-up experience with her is more than qualified to do so. And yes, even Ra is qualified to do so. But what you guys fail to see is nobody's chastising Ra simply because he's not 16 Bit. Hell, I talk about my character all the time, and I've never been to a tournament. That's not what it's about. The difference is, reliability and credibility lies not only in your accomplishments, but in your logic and arguments. The main problem with Ra is much of what he says is just inaccurate in the eyes of many, and not just because he never went offline. Since when does disagreeing with anyone means we're doing it because he doesn't have someone else's track record? PL is the most successful Kung Lao player by far, but he flipflops on Kung Lao's match-ups every day. So I'm not putting too much stock in his numbers. However, when you have someone who combines success with rationality, willingness to change his opinion based on knowledge (see 16 Bit backtracking on Catwoman losing to Green Lantern for example), and the ability to convince through logic, then yeah, I'm going to trust them more than "Cat-Woman is A- tier, finalized!!!"I just hate the mentality that there is only one voice per character. That is silly IMO.
What I don't understand is this "taking their opinion over Ras" which clearly like I illustrated above is merely backing up your buds. That is silly in this discussion.
Different fundamental stances on etiquette I suppose.
You guys need to let the idea that we bash Ra simply because we disagree with him go. We bash him because much of what he says is flat out nonsensical and ludicrous. We bash him because he once argued that online > offline. We bash him because he says Catdash isn't more difficult to punish online. We bash him because he says tournament just proves who's better in a FT2/Ft3. We bash him because he once said that the best Catwoman player in the world "lacks skills."If you and others feel its ok to bash ra for saying CW is a higher tier, thn its 100% ok for him to continue to "upplay" her until you're blue in the face but remember...he will keep defending his character, he will keep trash talking the guys on here (on a gaming level), and he will keep posting his infamous grammatical errors.
But if you and others continue to take things past the gaming level in terms of ra, thn yea me and others will always defend him unless he truly makes a idiot of himself but the previous post about his JOB was a valid reason to defend him.
I was literally just gonna post this. And yes, he said he comes back home at 9:30pm, I tried to rationalize it, it doesn't make sense. With Murk's schedule it does. How is that not lying lol. With his logic he doesnt even have time to poop!Well, to be fair to @Cossner, Ra hasn't always had a job the last year and a half or so, so he DOES have a point to an extent. I can't deny that.
He seems to have omitted some necessary details. He didn't specify how long it takes to get to work ,what time he works and how long it takes him to get home.I was literally just gonna post this. And yes, he said he comes back home at 9:30pm, I tried to rationalize it, it doesn't make sense. With Murk's schedule it does. How is that not lying lol. I'm sure RaHelios is a wonderful player that can make valid points, but he has to understand that the context by which we judge things is offline competitive gameplay. Until he has experienced that and had some sort of success in it (not saying winning a major but at least going toe to toe against knowledgable people), then his opinion can be taken into account in these matters because then he can base his arguments on a version of the game that can actually be playable. It's not elitism or anything like that, no one is asking him to be Reo 2.0. What the community is asking is for him to understand where he stands. @Eldriken just hammer that into his head because it seems everytime someone tells him this he feels attacked and tries to make crazy excuses.Yeah, I'll defend Ra until I'm blue in the face if it's merited. If he's making an ass out of himself, Murk and myself tend to let him know and tell him to just lay off because it's not helping his case. We're not trying to be white knights or anything, we're just doing what anyone can and should do for their friend(s).
But, to be fair, there have been plenty of times that I've agreed with others and one or more of their views on what Ra has been saying and I've told them that.
@coolwhip feels that trying to defend Ra by saying his thought-to-text capabilities are lacking isn't merited and most of the time, it's true. But there are times that it surely is the case. There's a big difference when reading what he types and actually listening to the guy talk. It's night and day.
I'm not one of those guys who only sees it from one side (generally being a friend's) and will always side with them and thinks everyone else is wrong.
Coolwhip, Cossner and others have had plenty to complain about at times and with good reason.
Murk and I will probably have a talk with him, but we can't promise anything. >.> He's quite bull headed at times, which is where most of this shit stems from.I'm sure RaHelios is a wonderful player that can make valid points, but he has to understand that the context by which we judge things is offline competitive gameplay. I'm sorry but if you people think that Catwoman is worse than Shazam then you're all fools who need to refer to my post on page 11. And people say the NW community downplays?
It's funny because nobody ever gives any reasons as to why Catwoman is worse than Shazam, they just say "well Bit says so", then when someone says she's better than that they say "your opinion is irrelevant". Like damn, can't you think for yourself?
@General M2Dave who are these mysterious other opinions?
He does. It's all over his TYM posts.\With his logic he doesnt even have time to poop!
