exactly ... and Nintendo are assholes regarding streaming videos and FGC , so, if Nintendo somehow can buy Capcom, everyone who support SF as competitive game can say goodbye sayonara to tourneys ..... can you imagine a crap WiiU being a main hardware platform for SF in Evo ? damn, that could be a vision of hell !!

The Wiiu part I understand, but Nintendo learned their lesson with Evo last year and their idiotic no streaming thing.

I don't agree with Nintendo. They are way too conservative and don't really take much risks. Nintendo would never try to release a new Darkstalkers, Rival School or even Dragon's Dogma for example. They would play it safe with a million SF and Megaman games. And just make a ton of mario party games featuring capcom characters. You all know it's true.

I liked Project X Zone a lot so if anything I would love to see more mixture of fighting mechanics and characters with RPGs and story telling. So Square Enix would be a good pick for me.

I think that Capcom's smartest choice if they were to go bankrupt, would be to auction the individual franchises, I'm sure SF and RE alone are worth a huge chunk of change.

Well certain IPs of their's need to remain multi-platform in order for them to be successful. Their FGs and IPs like DMC and RE just wouldn't garner enough in sales being only on one platform.

they would never do that ... they are greedy, and they have been suffering some profit loses due the crap choices regarding Wii U sales strategy, so, never that they could invest some billions to cash out Capcom IP franchises to their pocket and make not that pure and unique exclusive stuff for their platform ..... we are fucked and screwed if this shits might even happens !!

I could see Microsoft buying them out since their gaming division really wants to gain a foothold in the Japanese market (lost cause imo). Capcom would certainly help fit that bill.

I don't get this wish for MK vs Street Fighter. The games are so different. If they made it MK style, Capcom elitists would bitch. If they made it Street Fighter style, MK fans would bitch (including me). I'm a MASSIVE Tekken fan and I HATED SFxT. I bought it and played it for....maybe a week. I don't see how MK vs SF would ever work. I really don't care about ever seeing that game happen.

As far as Capcom goes, I hope someone buys them that handles their product correctly and allows them to live on. Fighting games as we know them today wouldn't exist if not for Street Fighter II. There would certainly never have been a Mortal Kombat.

This should not come as a surprise. I won't say they reap what they've sown, I don't care about their fighting games but goddamn look at the difference just from RE5 to RE6, and I'll never understand why you would reboot DMC after 4 which introduced a new character with great new mechanics. Its clear there are people running the company who don't know what they are doing, hopefully this ends up being an oppurtunity for someone to do something great with these titles


Side note Food for thought: regarding the impact to tourneys, well most players who were around preSF4 more or less agreed to play the current game and later the marvel players switched over because of Capcom pot bonuses and other sponsers. If Nintendo or any company bought it out and did not show support for Evo would MvC2 come back? Would 3S? ST? Would my Favs CVS2 and Zero3??
