To do what with? Buy a private jet? Buy a mansion? Buy food? Well SORRY if I'd rather go to uni and do what I'm passionate about for a living to earn that money myself instead than buy stuff I don't need. Even if I did buy everything I want, I'd have a hell of a lot left over that I wouldn't use. I get that that might be a weird opinion to have but I really want to experience all that rather than buy myself another life or whatever

No offense but only someone young, naive, and self-absorbed could claim to see no benefit in magically earning a billion dollars and "wanting to earn it for themselves". You likely don't know the struggles of poverty, having to provide for a family (or other people financially dependent on you), or vast sums of debt. You likely don't think of other people, in other countries, that could benefit from even a fraction of this "magic" wealth in establishing clean food and water sources as well as adequate medical facilities . You don't think of the value in investing your wealth into community programs and/or education to better your community.
But the money could go towards exactly this. Becoming a video game designer is neither easy or cheap, like any creative persuit you will without a doubt have to work with something else for a long time before you can support yourself as a game designer. All this money would allow you to achieve these dreams faster, instead of spending 8 hours a day working on something else you could be developing those designer skills instead.
