With a great deal of anticipation heading into the 10th edition of Chicago's UFGT, one of the biggest questions a lot of participants had was which pool they'd be assigned to. With the announcement last week that some pools would be opened up on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday-only as originally planned, members of the travelling community have been in a bit of a rush to adjust their plans in case they were slated for an earlier start.
However, today, tournament director Adam "Keits" Heart has released word, to the probable relief of some, that Injustice pools will be held on Saturday and Saturday only. In order to make that happen, Injustice registration will be hard-capped at 128 entrants.
The official statement from the UFGT staff is as follows:
"Due to the vocal distress amongst the Injustice community, and a slow down in late registrations (possibly related), the UFGT team has restructured equipment and tournament needs to allow for a Saturday + Sunday only Injustice tournament. However, due to this change the Injustice tournament will be hard capped at 128 players. We apologize in advance to whomever is the unlucky 129th registrant. We hope this elates the moods of players already registered.
Have fun everyone, UFGT cares about fun."
- UFGT Team.
As Injustice is already approaching the cap with only pre-registrants (as of the end of late registration), this means that it will be critical for late-registering attendees to arrive at the venue and secure their entry into the tournament as soon as possible.
