I know this is pretty retarded, but I thought it might be a funny concept to entertain. What if Patch 1.07 came out tomorrow and every character's trait was suddenly removed from the game? What would the tier list suddenly look like? Also pretend everyone doesn't quit the game, which is what would inevitably happen. I don't know a lot about every character, so please tell me why I'm wrong about your main and give your own opinion on placements
Stance characters have to stay on the default stance they start a match with. Asterisk* next to their name means their trait wasn't all that useful or that it wouldn't affect the character that much and they have improved due to other characters becoming weaker.
S tier
1. Wonder Woman - No longer able to use her already situational shield stance, she still has strong mobility and 40%+ meterless combos. Not hit as hard as a lot of other top tiers
2. Batgirl*
3. Superman - Having only his armor crush properties taken away from him, Superman is still a very capable zoning and rushdown character
A tier
4. Aquaman - Actually has to eat his mistakes now, but also loses his ability to YOLO and still be safe when it doesn't work
5. Martian Manhunter - Normals without trait are pretty short, but his 3 is still good and he still as his fantastic zoning tools, including the dreaded OH teleport
6. Harley Quinn*
7. Zatanna*
8. Flash - His high-damage combos are no longer possible, but his solid tools remain the same
9. Killer Frost*
B tier
10. Green Lantern - Combos become a lot less potent, his damage reduces even further, meter is necessary to do decent-sized combos, and the j3 ambiguous cross-up becomes a big gamble as the set-up does next to no dami. Machine gun can no longer reach full screen ever. Tools are still strong, b13 is still jacked up
11. Sinestro - Holes in his offense can no longer be covered, Sinestro players are forced to play more by-the-books and play a keep-away/zoning game pretty much all the time.
12. Cyborg*
13. Catwoman - Correct me if I'm wrong, but trait was only useful as a wake-up right? I think * on this one
14. Black Adam - Sluggish and now with no way to threaten an opponent trying to get in. Unable to pop trait mid-combo to add that extra dami. Harder to close out tight matches
15. Deathstroke*
C tier
16. Batman - Uh oh, no lil bats. Now has to rely entirely on MB grapple and j2 to get going offensively, no more crazy nigh-unblockable antics
17. Doomsday - Losing trait is bad, but losing MB venom or earthshaker would have been way worse. Still an effective rushdown character, but loses MUs he used to do better in
18. Shazam*
D tier
19. Hawkgirl - All MB mace charge now. No float-zoning, has to jump every time she wants to throw a downward mace now, effectively making her a poor man's Harley
20. Ares - still has a good teleport, but loses his low axe and a strong part of his projectile game
21. Raven - Zoning game gets bopped. Still has soul crush, but struggles to get the chip and full-screen pressure she once had
22. Zod - Now devoid of anything that resembles a mixup and his mastery over interactables, he can rely only on slow zoning and good Zod Charge reads
F tier
23. Nightwing - Only being able to work out of escrima stance, NW loses a lot of his rushdown and counterzoning potential, and gets rolled in multiple MUs
24. Lobo - Back to no long-range options. Not hurt a ton by this, but still a meh enough character to not have a *
25. Lex - Still has setup and ok zoning capabilities, but loses his armor, becoming very weak at closer ranges and having even more difficulty getting in
26. Scorpion - Still an ass character, now even more ass with his combo potential reduced
27. Solomon Grundy - Damage gets reduced, loses the array of buffs he once had to choose from, and has to work harder than ever. Resets still possible. Can a Grundy player tell me what he would even end his combos with if this happened?
28. Joker*
29. Bane - Now has more or less nothing. Anyone with a projectile shits on him, and he can't get in. His playstyle is revamped, but he suffers harder than a lot of the characters
30. Green Arrow - Now unable to fire arrows forward, GA has literally nothing going for him other than firing off random supers
