The absolute RIDICULOUSNESS of tournament settings now...

OK...

I have no issue with 3/5 or 2/3, its whatever the TO's/community decide. BUT.. I think that it is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS to have half the tournaments end up being 3/5 and the other half 2/3. AK uses 3/5, SJ may be 3/5, TFC 2/3, CEO 3/5, 8otb weekly 2/3, NLBC 2/3, etc...

COME ON... what the hell are the tournament rules? Almost every tournament has a diff stage rule and now we have different set counts as well?

THERE NEEDS TO BE ONE STANDARD ESTABLISHED NOW!!

3/5 or 2/3, decide NOW...

Stage rules, make ONE rule NOW...

I have no opinion on the set counts.

I vote for the first match being on a random stage.
loser can...
1. re random?
2. 50/50?
3. select stage or character but not both?
I believe the third option is the best, as it takes away the "luck factor" of the re-random and 50/50 stage selection methods.

Tom. True random.
Go to selection screen then player 2 presses 3 then that is the random stage

how about stage?

first match can be random or 50/50(community decide)

loser can...
1. re random?
2. 50/50?
3. select stage or character but not both?

Make a standard
oh didn't read the last part of your post, i say random at first, then loser either pick stage or character, its been working well imo. i don't care personally about stages unless am playing against you/aquaman, since am the flash, i don't have a stage that i am at advantage.

False, that will not select the other levels of the stage, only the first level. P1 random gives you random stage, random level.

Completely agree.

At this rate, confusion will run high in the tournament scene. It's either 2/3 or 3/5, I don't want the rules to keep flip-flopping if I were to go to any more locals or majors.

I would have suggested adding a poll to this thread so that people can speak up on their preferred rule-sets, but too late now since the thread is already open.

3/5, random map first map, loser can re-random or pick character. Loser picks map HEAVILY favors the first person to win in a game where the map plays a giant factor. Random and re-random is best for maps.

As a low-level player, but a fan who has watched almost every tournament stream in the last year+, I think a great rule for both Injustice and MK9 would be that a stage can't be repeated in a match. NRS makes all these stages in a game and the same ones get used over and over. Over and over and over, and it is enough already. No more Rooftop day for Kabal, you get Rooftop once. No more constant Metropolis Rooftop for Power Characters, you get it once. When 2 out of 3, or 3 out of 5, matches are played on the same damn stage it is boring and annoying. It isn't even like it demonstrates some brilliant strategic thinking to pick the stages everyone knows are most favorable, since everyone knows which stages are more favorable. If your gameplay is completely reliant on getting the 'right' stage, you don't deserve to be a tournament champ, that's my thought. Let's get some stage variety going!

The devs themselves have been on record saying this game was meant to be 3/5...so whats the holdup? Stage selection issue...the only fair option is random at all times.

I'll provide some evidence:

This was said just in recent month --

i said several times the the damage output and gameflow was always intended for 3/5. 2/3 also doesn't give much time to download an opponent in a game where rounds do not reset things.

feel free to be stubborn and believe you know better tho.
This was said back before the game released --

the speed of the game will be pretty obvious in a couple of weeks. Things were sorta designed with first to 3 in mind as the blowups will come fast and hard but this will sorta itself out right away and might evolve over time.

I'd also be wary of plstyle fakeout button checks to reset the stage when a favorable one doesn't show up at first lol
People still keep scratching their asses tho, on what to do, GGs.
