What's a Smarrgasm?
Artemis Fowl and A Series of Unfortunate Events were amazing when I was growing up.

I hate reading so I haven't read any other series since then.
Ive been meaning to start the Artemis Fowl series again. Thanks for the reminder.

if you are into tolkien-esque fantasy but dont want to read ASOIAF for whatever reason then check out the Third Law series by joe abercrombie. if you like sci fi check out the Foundation saga by asimov, or the Hyperion Cantos. if you like superhero style fantasy cant go wrong with American Gods or as other have suggested graphic novel wise Watchmen or the Sandman

If you're into a series that is very action heavy and intense with an Indiana Jones meets Sci-Fi feel with some history thrown in I recommend the Jack West Jr series by Matthew Reilly: Seven Deadly Wonders, The 6 Sacred Stones and The 5 Greatest Warriors is the complete series.

Really interesting series that blends great storytelling, action, history and suspense together nicely.

Top 8 Injustice Frosty Faustings VII
Not yet but it's definitely on my "to read" list. I heard its very dark.
Dude it probably has the best ending of a book I have ever read. Read it quick because I think its coming out as a movie soon... It is on another level... my second favorite book...

It's probably one of the most brutal books I have ever read... pay close attention to the "The Judge"...

The darker the better, providing it's in good context.

Stephen King books are known for being dark, but give a book called Desperation a go. Even by King standards, it's very dark and violent. This was written back in the 90's, when he still could weave a good tale. Give it a go, you wont be dissapointed. I consumed the book in about 3 days, I was that addicted to it.

Though not a pure book, The Punisher MAX series by Garth Ennis are very, very good.

One story arc called "The Slavers" won a couple of awards as The Punisher attempts to take down a Eastern European Human Trafficking ring.

The ending is brutal and sad at the same time.

<3. One of the only series I would reread again because of how amazing and memorable it was for me.

I never got to read the Scarecrow series, but you just reminded me I need to check those out lol.

His other book that I absolutely loved was Contest.

Nothing beats The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind... not GoT, WoT, LotR, or anything else.

I suggest everyone start here -->
... and never look back.
Damn it man, you beat me too it. One of the best series I've read, I should actually finish it (got busy with other stuff).

Best series?
The Demon Cycle: The Painted Man, The Desert Spear & The Daylight War by Peter V. Brett (+ 2 short stories)
Mistborn: The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension, The Hero of Ages The Alloy of Law by Brian Sanderson
Any series ending in the word saga by Raymond E. Fiest.

And that's just fantasy stuff... maybe more stuff later.
