Ummm can you breaker a Slide that's not part of a combo?

As the title implies this is probably a stupid nooby ass question...

Im asking because everytime I xray with csz i quickly follow it up with a slide. To my knowledge it doesn't combo after it even if it appears to do so, and I even proved it in practice mode, maybe it's not registering the attack or something but i don't think it follows up. Thing is, I was playing arcade with csz and after an x ray i followed it up with a slide and the opponent used a breaker...

Im probably not thinking this one through...

Depends. You can breaker even when not part of the combo if you are in a staggered state. I get annoying non wanted breakers from Scorpion sometimes because of his teleport staggering. Aside from that I would not think so, unless you found a way to link the two, which was found for sub-zero and it was in such a small frame window (one frame) that most would discount it.

The slide has to have 2 hits. so its impossible. Its probably a glitch in the AI.

Maybe you threw a en slide and did not notice?
