Japanese Online Casuals - Mortal Kombat 9

It's not everyday where we're able to see or get a taste for what the competition holds for Mortal Kombat 9 in countries like Japan. With that said, check this video out... GrandMasterson who is an American player that lives in Japan recorded some games. These games consist of a few of his online friends. It's quite unique in it's own and opens a small window. Check out these casuals from Japan!

I'm an American MK9 player that recently moved to Japan. My ping is just too high to play with American players, so I'm forced to seek out Japanese players.

Some people were requesting me to upload some matches with them, so here it is. The Japanese players are as follows:

There are actually many more Japanese MK9 players than this, these are just the guys I play the most with. Enjoy!

Interesting, I was under the assumption that this game really didn't take off in Japan at all, but it seems that it has at least to an extent; that's good! Game has to be godlike online with Japan/South Korea's internet though.

The only player that wasn't on the same level was the Kabal.
but for being online play and in such a remote country, then it's freaking awesome! maybe a little bit more mu experience and a few more frame data here and there, along with some stream footage will do, but yeah this is great news.
also, no offline?

I really like your Stryker, makes me bummed out we cannot play even more:(.

I like how you play a safer style of Scorpion off of the vortex too.

Really solid players, particularly those Mileena and Reptile players, that Mileena player punishes jumps so well.


Great matches, love to see international players invested in the game and doing an amazing job:).

Lols at Mileena's D1 beating Kabals X-Ray. Good play tho from everyone. Very enjoyable to watch.:)

Japan is relatively small; the data does not travel far at all, they also have government mandated high bandwith speed, this is why online play is very viable in Japan. If anything, online play is more desirable in Japan since most peoples homes there are very small; which makes gathering for casuals a bit difficult.

Good to see Mortal Kombat being Played in Japan as well with this i think all continents are complete ^^

Great Job @GrandMaterson try to do some offline Casuals, it would be epic.

Now i want to see the MK Scene in portugal as well, they insert coin review was poor if you ask me, they called the game being "too simple" and where only interested in Xrays, Fatalities and Blood.

No, another big issue is that I live in Okinawa, which is a completely separate island from mainland Japan. A plane ticket from here to Tokyo is like $1,000. So unless all of the Japanese players are in Okinawa, I'm not going to any offline events any time soon. :\

I've played tanhiro a few times as well, same with Clubman and r_h_fatality, but all of us seem to have completely different schedules because I always seem to miss them online.

Believe me, I wish I could, but as I told garik, it's incredibly difficult with me living in Okinawa. Most of the Japanese players seem to live in Tokyo. I will try and find ways to possibly set up an offline event.

Haha, very true. But don't forget who endured the last 5 MK games and broke them down and NEVER left for any other game. I love being so passionate about MK. People mistake it for negativity and forget about the last 10 years. It's funny.

Anywho, was just trying to make more people aware. Later man. Hope you come up north again soon! Was awesome finally meeting you after 10 years :) at NEC12 last year.
