This just trips my cynicism levels. We all know that this is in fact an advertisement push for this Torny application. Asking for cash form contestants to fund you as you advertise your product while at the same time the largest FREE entry online contest just started seams really odd. This should have been free entry and still have a nice reward and be factored into the marketing for TE.

I'm running this personally and not making any money from it in fact I'm paying art out of my own pocket no one but the players is getting any money. What's the problem it's ran after ESL anyway. I'm using this as a way to public ally test this as all testing has been internal to this point I created this. I come from this community , there is nothing nefarious here.

I think paid for online tournaments are a way of the future but $5 for the first one that will actually have some recognition is a little steep in my opinion since it's easier to cheat in online tournaments and there's no guarantee of good connection.

I'm excited about this app though and I will see if I can sign up.

But I don't trust Dragon with my money lol

God forbid there's a price pool in a tournament ran by an application made by the community for the community that's free. Also shout outs to paying attention to the ones when we were giving away 500 bucks and iPads.

$5 bucks is steep? Talk to me whenever you pay 400+ bucks to go to Las Vegas/Chicago/Florida/SoCal/PA to play.

You're not just paying to play...the experience and such goes a long way, plus it's not like we go to these tourneys just to play online tournaments with people several hundred miles away. Sharp contrast.

$2 to play seems right...but $5 is a cheap meal. I'd rather buy the cheap meal than get lagged out of a tournament.

My company sponsored TCW and put a 4k pot bonus for that least year. Also sponsored players to go to evo like Darth Arma. Hosted offline tournaments here with pot bonuses and most recently gave away an iPad. To say we have no track record is ridiculous.

This is run by me though not the company hence no pot bonus but I am paying for the streamer.

right so.. in addition to being an advertising push you are forcing all participants to open accounts on the software and most likely need to install it on their phones. It is like one of the oldest tactics in the book. Just admit it.
