I don't typically do these sort of threads but this thought has been bugging me. Baraka has a long history of...well...sucking. However, he is one of the most casually badass and most identifiable characters in the MK universe to fans. Even if he sucks in the tiers folks generally always get excited seeing him because he's sort of the Wolverine of MK with those swords and his demonic toothy face.

With 3 styles who knows...maybe he would be worth something in one of them. Either way this isn't a "Should he be in MKX" thread but a "do you think he is a character NRS already put in " thread.

Personally, I don't think the character will lend much to the current story so I feel he wont make it.

I want the option of no, but I'd like to see him anyway haha. Like you said he is very badass but usually a jobber in the story.

He's always been one of my favorites to play with, even if he is low tier so I hope he's in. But I have a feeling if he doesn't show up there may be a new Tarkatan decendant in there or maybe dlc?

you know, i have always disliked baraka as a character, but if he had rekkas with those arm blades id totally alt him

i dont follow story much but i believe i read something about in mkx tarkatans are attacking a location from through a portal as a plot device, so since i heard that i hoped hed be in.

Doesnt anybody remember when the game was announced they had silhouettes for characters and they "somewhat hinted at characters" and one of them was Barack Obama? Yea , Baraka Obama people.

A lot of people want to see Fujin and Millena, this characters are the most request characters, my main wish is Fujin, i hope for Liu Kang,, Bo rai Cho, classics chars like Jhonny, Sonya, Jax and Tsung, and i will die in peace.

I think he would bring more to the mythos than Mileena would. In fact, NRS have been awfully quiet about where the Tarkatan race stands in the MKX canon. An outside bet for the big bad, perhaps?

Kano is in so I don't see why not. Seriously though Baraka I guess is one of the "staples" of MK so he has a good chance of being in.

Honestly, with the horde of Tarkatans, why is Baraka the only one that has ever been represented? I want a NEW Tarkatan to play as.

Most probably, hopefully they can do something interresting with him this time.

Starting to feel like there wont be that many new characters after all, and that makes me sad.

He could be, but I don't think he pulls enough weight to hit the roster on launch. I could see him being DLC though.

The real issue has nothing to do with tiers(although i'd love to see them finally give him a playstyle that isn't shit) and more to do with him basically being "generic bad guy 4" as far as the storylines are concerned. With new cast members coming in it's going to be hard to justify someone like that.

Baraka is my favourite character so I freaking hope so, but I'm not getting my hopes up honestly.

If he does come back, then I really hope he's more than Mr Jobber, but above all, he needs to be not-shit gameplay-wise as he's one of the MK9 characters cursed with terrible movesets who need to be redeemed.

He hasn't been toilet tier on every game, though (see MK Gold).

I like Baraka but this time around it seems every character will have some type of relevant impact on the story. Baraka never really offered much rather then being SK's lap dog..Who knows they might put him in and expand his role a bit but I doubt it..
