General/Other - Swarm Queen Mustards' D'Vorah Swarm Queen Guide - MCM EXPO

STRYKIE

Are ya' ready for MK11 kids?!
So they basically said "we gave qwark a shitty parry char last time, lets make up for it now"
Think more along the lines of "there's other things you have to care about if ice clone is irrelevant in a given matchup". Who knows, I may end up defecting to the Lin Kuei this time around.

Even though I give very little F's about D'Vorah, this is is fantastic, @PND_Mustard, and I wish more people who gain access to early builds would go into playing it with this sort of approach.

Especially for goddamn Kotal Khan and his totems. :(
Not to accuse anyone of Hollywood treatment but the rest of us were only able to play 2 games at a time and had to queue back up again behind roughly 20 other people waiting to try it out. Let that sink in for a minute. Not to mention some are better at breaking down aspects with limited given information than others concerning characters with no legacy curve.

No, I get that, and I get the urge to want to play as many different characters and variations as one can get one's hands on within such time constraints, but I was referring to the idea of going into it set to focus on one variation of one character and breaking that down as much as possible in the limited amount of time given. I prefer that strategy of theirs to the "hey all I know about Raiden is his d1 is fast, Sub Zero can't throw a clone out in the air, and Ferra/Torr has armor on this one punch" method of info-sharing, not that it's my call at all how people choose to spend their time with the game and report back to us.

Thanks for this vey detailed post on her....

but you left out the most important answer?

how did the game feel/play? :D

Sub Zero - He is a LOT faster, and his slide punishes both the insect lift and insect throw on reaction very easily, so this might be a matchup worth using a different variation for if the startup remains as is for them both, also when in unbreakable his parry also parries lows, so it's an option you have to respect at all times.

Quan Chi - His trance game is very similar to MK9, he will likely have some way to guarantee a 50-50 off of it as he also has a low string that lanches, but has an overhead that can be cancelled into trance, but is VERY unsafe. Ketchup only used the Sorcerer variation so made full use of Instant air skulls/Ground bursts to keep me out, definitely looked like you needed insect lift to go for the trade/force his block so you can try to work your way in, his teleport can also be used in the air again and is faster if instant aired, which punished my lift/bug throw on reaction also.

Kano - Limited experience as I didn't play 12 Gauge as much because he had less time with the game as Ketchup and I, so we wanted him to be able to have some lab time before playing, Seemed to hit very hard, he seems to have a lunging knee normal which covers similar distance to her F2, could be a very fun mid range game in the Knife fighter style.
How good do you think Quanchis iafb is? Can it be made super instant? lol

Counter-zoning in an NRS game just means the ability to play keepaway as well as fight incredibly well up-close
Top-tier confirmed, nerf confirmed, dlc character doing what the character originally done also confirmed
I have to admit, you're probably 100% right about this.

Just edited a couple of input errors that I worded poorly.

Also, don't worry about the DB4 special being like trident rush, used normally it only hits 3 times, and MB couldn't have been more than 6/7. we don't know how meter build will work on block yet so nothing to go crazy over :)

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, happy you all liked it :D, @STORMS could I be really cheeky and request a front page? I'd do it myself but I don't wanna seem like that guy. :p

And with less idiotic input to boot.

Do you know perchance if that state grants combo, or is it just stagger?
Unfortunately I don't know, I didn't test it and none of the moves had descriptions, so all move names/summaries in my post are all my own names for now :p

Ketchup was doing it really quickly and low off the ground, so it looks like your usual NRS no height restriction, the skull seemed to hit at lower shin level from fullscreen when instant air'd, so could definitely be useful IMO. Obviously time will tell :)

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SILKY SMOOTH, no delay when crouching/standing up, no slight sluggishness when blocking, no JIPs whiff because the characters angle themselves differently in the air, sprint makes the pace incredibly quick and it felt like you could really play on the momentum, also wake-ups didn't feel as good! (but demo build so theyre probably going to be completely different)

It sounds like her OH/Low game are fuzzy guardable. If they aren't then are her 50/50's punishable?

How's the chip dmg on Bee Rush?

Pterodactyl

Plus on block.
While i'm super hype for D'vorah and am fucking happy that someone finally decided to use her and reflect on it for once, because we've gotten so much on Quan, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero already, I still can't be 100% happy.

Because there is still like zero information on the venomous, which is the variation I plan on focusing on with her.

Also, it's kind of weird that they call her "stingers" ovipositors when an ovipositor is a sex organ in insects, though with wasps and the like it is also combined with the stinger.

Basically it means she's attacking people with her pointy genitals, which is gross and awesome at the same time, which is to be expected I guess.

I plan on using this and Swarm Queen...I'm sure all her normals carry over but I want to know how much damage the poison does. Is it like Harley's play doctor or Grundy's grave rot?

Plus on block.
It's also partly one of the things I wanted for this game, chip damage based on the character and specific attacks and not universal.

It'd be hell to balance but i'd love it if they tried, like Baraka's blade attacks would deal more chip than his standard, and Jax's punches would do more than most.

i agree. we've only seen her venomous for like a couple seconds in a video. i would rather them be called stingers. i read that the ovipositor is where the wasp lays eggs.
