The Death of Zoning in Injustice: GAU

Zoning is dead in Injustice. Batgirl and Scorpion are only a nail in the coffin. Allow me to explain please by focusing on the so-called zoning characters of this game.

Cyborg - high execution for no reward. Cyborg has no footsies, no damage, and no pressure strings. Work hard to master instant aerial nova blasters only to be disappointed by the character's lack of tools. Why bother with Cyborg?

Deathstroke - jack of some trades but master of none. Deathstroke has been converted into a typical mid tier character who excels at nothing. Yes, b+2 xx Sword Spin and b+1,u+2 are solid, but if I wanted to use a rush down and 50/50 mix up character, why would I choose Deathstroke over Batgirl, Killer Frost, and Scorpion? Besides, why is my primary projectile punishable half a screen away? What is the point of a projectile if you cannot use it? If you think Deathstroke is any good now, talk to me six months from now when everyone learns how to fight him.

Sinestro - live by the trait and die by the trait. You can either charge the trait and have a chance at winning or you cannot charge the trait and have no possibility at winning. Also, why is everything laughably unsafe on block? Why is Fear Blast -22 at mid range? Why are Shackles -26 on block? Why is Impact Event -43 on block? Which player destroyed all the others with Sinestro during testing for this character to be this unsafe?

RIP zoning in Injustice.

PS: If the rumors are true about the second set of DLC, the game will receive five more characters and consequently five more patches/hotfixes. How can players learn how to play the game when every two weeks the game changes? NRS, when can we start learning and playing the game?

I was refering to the really nooby ranked scorps who just woke up tele and 111spear. and no his vortex could not be fuzzied

Dave to this day i still agree that Deathstrokes zoning should not have been nerfed. The only thing that should have been removed was Cyborgs block infinite. However a 5 percent damage teleport to nullify zoning should not be that big a deal. People will just have to play smarter like characters who have inferior to no zoning have to block and dash. Scorpion needs to burn through meter just to get decent damage if he teleports. He will probably lose every clash, and his overheads can be scouted through experience.

I did not create this thread because of Scorpion. I have nothing against teleport attacks.

The problem is that NRS listens to online scrubs (i.e., the same fool who is flaming me right now).

Do you follow major Injustice tournaments? Name me the last major a zoning character has won. This "zoning characters rule Injustice" perception exists only in your head.

This is a good point.

I usually love spending hours in practice mode to find new setups for characters or anti-character tech but now I'm afraid anything I find will become irrelevant in 2 weeks because of system changes and balance/frame data tweaks.

I'd wait for the "final version" of Injustice but I'm afraid that could possibly be around Injustice 2's release.

Yeah because I was one of the ones bitching about zoning.

On the contrary, I wanted Deathstroke BUFFED from where he was at from the start of the game.

I have the UTMOST respect for zoning, and all my favorite battles in this game are against zoners.

However, it's absolutely pathetic the way you bitch about EVERYTHING that happens. Shut the hell up, pick up the controller and play. That's it, DONE.

Sure you didn't. It's not like you conveniently made this thread on the day Scorpion was released as DLC. No. Completely unrelated.

There's this whole thing in Video Games where it's called "Dealing with it". Just because 2 characters in the game beat Zoning doesn't mean that it's dead. You're like the biggest baby I've seen from lurking TYM for a good year.
