3 days to go! Remember that if you want a shot at the big prizes, you must signup by Friday evening so I can make the brackets in time. Also, it is highly advisable that you register for a PayPal account in order to receive prize money ASAP.

I'll address the bracket question because I know several people have asked me whether or not this tourney will be seeded. I've decided that I will revert this one back to a random name out of the hat drawing. I'll post the video on YouTube Friday evening after signups close. :)

Im gonna see if Culongy will join the tourney, hes got a hella good raiden and scorp, def tourney worthy, no doubt. He is doing insta-air supermans with raiden, wtf? online?

I honestly believe that Culongy is cheating with one of those programmable controllers. He's doing things like instant air fans and instant air superman while walking. He doesn't do anything to buffer it out of. That's impossible to do the legit way. You have to either block, crouch with the analog, or do a normal/special move so you can buffer that stuff.

yeah no, mot asking him to enter tourney then. I do not doubt it, but how would a programmable controller help with that? I dont see how that could work, what would be programmed? I do not doubt it though

They make controllers that you can program inputs for one button. For Raiden, someone would program back,back,forward for one of the additional buttons on the controller, so they can do one button special moves.

he was doing insta's (no kitana) like it was going out of style with raiden.

there was someone the other day....taelwink or something like that. we play 2 painfully slow rds. 3rd round was slow until meters were less than 30%. suddenly the speed reverted back to normal and he got me. there are tricksters out there, but too few to vn phase me. funny how you'll always remember to avoid them later. i'll know the name if i see it again for sure.

I highly advise anyone who is not familiar with the chat room to try logging in at some point tomorrow or on Saturday prior to the start of the tournament. Make sure your connection works, you are running the right browser, you have the right plugins, etc. You don't want to jump on the site at the start of the event and then not be able to play because you couldn't enter the chat room.

That's probably just the server. Especially on OG it varies nowdays between slow-motion and real time.

I've never seen Culongy do Kitana's IAFs without a buffer. I always watch for it though.
He only does them from crouch against me.

What about Raiden? He's like Girard times 2 with Raiden when it comes to that stuff. With Kitana, I've seen him walk forward and then throw an instant air fan out of nowhere.

I think he's just good at analog moves. Girard only auto-fires supermans right after teleporting. Culongy plays it smarter. He could be auto-firing... but in my experience playing him I've never seen anything out of the ordinary. I think it could be possible to do walk-forward IAF throws. But the timing and hand configuring would be insane, especially in lag.

Culongy is a much better player, but he does do things like auto superman right after a teleport. He's just smarter about when to use it. How could a forward walking instant air fan be possible? I don't see how, because you have to have something to buffer it out of.

Edit* It completely baffles my mind that you would think that Girard cheats, but not Culongy. Culongy is a smarter player, but he abuses it more than Girard. I'm confused.

With Girard it's obvious. Culongy could be, IDK. But vs me he's never done anything that I couldn't do. And I've never seen him do morph/superman as fast as Girard, who is most certainly auto-firing.

If you were walking forward, hit up on analog and quickly threw a fan, it would be possible. You would have to do it insanely fast though.

How can you throw an instant air fan out of a walk animation? There is no recovery time in a walk animation for you to buffer the fan. Make a vid for me please.

Well, that's what intrigues me. Despite offering up the biggest prize pool for an MK2 tournament in the past decade, signups aren't as high as I thought they'd be. Somehow though, I think that will change for the December tournament....
