Hay gurl hay
Lao, Shinnok, Summoner and sorcerer Quan are all dumb and annoying. I say we need all of them to be nerfto "Forgot They existed" tier aka Jason tier characters and forget about them and we all play Mileena and Ex roll together.

I feel like Quan's vortex is stronger than Kung Lao or anyone else's pressure, when placed on him. If performed right Kung Lao, Cassie, Tanya, and every other character, have no options but guessing, and then guessing again. Quan has a 6 frame D1 to poke out of their stuff. I know people will say "well it's +3". The thing is, when you're +3, that opens up mind games. You could do a crossover, you could do his NJP, you could S1, or go for a 50/50 if they respect those options, that need to be respected.

Imo it's not debatable that Summoner Quan is the best. Since most players aren't going to be the best at poking out, jumping out when people make mistakes, punishing, just needing armor in general, etc, a character like Lao, Tanya, or Cassie may be viewed as the best, but you'll see top players start to gravitate towards Quan as the best character in the game.

Kung Lao and Cassie are right behind him, though. Without a doubt.

Lao is just the best overall, but fucking Summoner Quan Chi is just complete bullshit with his bat trance resets. Seriously, how has Quan Chi survived the nerf bat? Who gives a fuck if he doesn't have wake-up options, his offensive options are just bullshit.

Considering all variations? Predator.

Here's my reasoning. The best character in the game, above all else, should have the most winning matchups. I firmly believe predator has no losing matchups. Bottom line is that predator has more options and tools than any other character in the game. Full screen? He's got 7+ options. In the corner? Over 20 options easy. Mid screen? He has all the right moves to control the match and be a threat. He doesn't have the best frame data, but he has more ways to open you up than any other character.
----

HQT is arguably the best zoning variation with numurous options for his full/mid screen zoning game. He's kind of like Freddy from MK9 I think. But his up close pressure with the plasma canon cancel/mixed in with low laser cancels is just as good, and provides opportunities to open up opponents even without a real 50/50.

Speaking of 50/50. Hunter brings 50/50 to predator with still insane mid screen/corner pressure. He lacks the full screen pressure but hard to blockable setups are possible for huge damage (like quan, but predator has a better wakeup).

And speaking of wakeups, if predator does find himself on the ground a lot and against players that are breaking his armor, there's Warrior. Warrior has two legit wakeups that lead to respectable damage. He still has options full/mid screen though not as strong, but the close up pressure is still there.

Predator loses to Tanya, Quan, Cassie, and Lao.

IMO of course

:coffee:

Edit: btw I believe Tremor is the best designed character in the game due to each variation being very viable. People are still sleeping on Metallic and Crystalline.

Dunno what are you talking about here. He's good, but Quan can do everything HQT can just better. Arguably better or at worst same zoning, real 50/50 and vortex. The only thing that HQT has over Quan is armor, but it's super slow and easy to break. I just can't see how can he be better then Quan. Seems more like a weaker version of Summoner Quan to me.

Imo good Lao / Tanya / Liu Kang / Quan rapes him.

It is better this way
I think Kung Lao Tempest is the best character in the game because he doesn't have any glaring weaknesses. Other top tier characters even have obvious weaknesses, but Kung Lao always seems like he has options. Sometimes in specific matchups, it's over before it starts or "once character x gets character y in the corner it's over" but you really can't ever count Kung Lao out. Quan sure but his defense is ass. Cassie sure, but she's the most stamina hungry character in the entire game. I just feel scared of Kung Lao no matter where I am on screen, because he has it all. He can absolutely maul you on hit or on block. He even has a good anti air which are notoriously shitty in mkx.
1. Lao
2. Cassie
3. Quan
4. Jax
5. Tanya

even if I submit to you that Quan has better zoning, Predator beats quan up close.

With quan you have to guess two ways, and you need meter to make your pressure safe. Predator does not have a true 50/50 but the plasma canon cancel + canceling into low laser makes up for that. You have to make more guesses. Especially in the corner. Also predator can get out of the corner easier than quan can, his wakeup is a little better, his njp reaches farther, his jump 2 reaches farther, and he can wakeup with a d3~low laser wich is safer than any meter less option quan has off his d1.

Matix218

Get over here!
I think lao is the most complete character. He literally has everything in tempest. Armored reversals, anti airs, strong pressure, mobility, damage, strong oki with orbiting hat.

J-KOB

OLD J-KOB
Kung Pao IMO the strongest fist in MK X table. Slightly followed by Quan dat Sorcerrer and bitch spam Tanya Kobu Jutsu spec. Behind these in the shadows crawl another hidden manace ... dat Boneshaping freak Shinnok.

Kingshootahz

Ain't nobody trilla than shootah.
Jax IMO, I'm still convinced he doesn't have any bad match ups, and I know a lot of jax players are going to blow me up for this talking about low profiling and how like 2 of his moves aren't safe but nothing is going to change my mind, he has so much dirt and is way under utilized as fuck, he has insane damage in the corner for little effort, insane corner carry, and his projectile is +8 on block. Basically his frame data makes me die a little inside from jealousy.
Give me some of this dirt, because I can't find It and no downplaying whatever dirt he has can be shutdown and i would rather fight Jax than Lao,tanya, shinnok or predator all day everyday

You're missing the fact that with Quan you have to guess several times in a row, you have the obvious 50/50s, but you have the pseudo unblockables, mb rune to make things safer, sooo many ways to open people up. The best predator can do is create ghetto mixups off of standing 3(a high) and not get nearly as much damage, and has no vortex potential. Not to mention Quan outzones the predator, and when ex rune or low bat hits you can do ex trance to bring them in and rape them even more. Or send out low bat and time overhead sky drop so you even get the pseudo unblocables at fucking full screen. Predator is just kind of outclassed here in my opinion of course.
