Agreed about ares but ares can god smack on a read when nw is zoning and blow up ground pounds. Then once he shows that he's willing to do that zoning gets a lot harder. Also mb fireball will win every trade.

I'll expand more on the other two later, fuck typing on an iPad
I don't know if it's just me, but when I went into training mode I found that Ares can't even MB GS after a blocked Ground Pound

Nightwing definitely has the advantage.

Why do we get bodied on KD? Can't we just block the D3? If they start going for 50/50s on KD surely we can then wakeup
Which one of her options is ever really in our favour? If we block, her safe d3 is blocked.

If we wakeup they all whiff under the d3 which leads to more 50/50 oki.

I mean, once we block the D3 she's negative right? So it's our turn to swing?

With Ares, once they block one GP they have to make a read to re-establish their zoning game or get in. When I played 1man3letters' Ares it seemed hard for him to establish his own zoning game because of Nightwing's plus frames.

With Lex, Nightwing can keep hassling him to prevent him from getting his trait out with Ground Pound. I used to play @DreadKnight1's Lex regularly and it seemed overall easier for Nightwing to do his thing than for Lex to do his. Lex gets outzoned with Ground Pound and it's super easy to trip guard him because of his slow-ass jump arc. He gets bodied on wakeup because once you establish the threat of MB B/F3 and baiting the wakeup they'll soon stop. If he catches you with trait on KD though that's when the MU starts to shift to Lex's favour. The whole 'Whoever gets momentum first wins" statement is certainly true, although it's just slightly harder for Lex to get some momentum going than for Nightwing imo.

You're completely right about Joker, but he has to get in before he can establish his game which is the only thing that's saving me from eating my words lol. Also, his J3 is really good but his J2 is fairly easy to anti-air in staff. Joker's wakeups aren't the best so once you knock him down you can go for some oki setups
Except no worthwhile joker jumps in with J2. this isn't batman, j2 is used exclusively for crossup mixups.

With what? Her back dash gets her out of any mounting pressure from us in any stance.

We literally have no options but to block against that sweep on our wakeup. None.

Wu mb fk counters her d3 if you are expecting it. The only viable wu in escrima in this mu. I honestly believe this mu is 5-5.
I've played great wws like @Drizzle we have good sets and 3-7 is out of the question. At worst it's 4-6 ww. It's all about knowing and blocking the setups baiting out wake ups and playing cautiously.

No it doesn't the D3 will make it whiff. Found that out the hard way.

Exactly, you used it for crossups in this video. They could have been anti-aired with staff D2.

I highly doubt that. In staff you are absolutely helpless unless you either interrupt the jump from the start of mb b3 dash cancel out.

Also worth noting that we've evolved the matchup much further since the recording of that video.

You can react and anti-air, it doesn't have to be right at the start. Staff's D2 is downplayed.

Fair enough, but it's still an option.

If Catwoman is using 1,f+2 to stuff Nightwing's wakeups it's bad for her not a talking point about the MU being good for her. Catwoman does not want to stuff wakeups with 1,f+2. That's just guessing you're going to wakeup. It's a 33/33/33 guess.

She can actually block the MB flip kick if she's using d3, but won't be able to punish it. It's not a great situation since you're in WoWo's face at - frames but it is an option. I'm just used to holding d/b after sweep so I get hit.

It's good, but you get like no damage off of it. The only consistent thing I can get is a 1 grayson for like 20%
It depends on the height. If you catch them reasonably high then you can do a practical D2 D2 xx MB GP B3 J2 1 xx FG for 39% or so.

If she blocks the MB Flipkick Nightwing is +1
