I do want to say this though: @Perfect Legend @General M2Dave

After a rough start on your first podcast due to some mic issues, this show has quickly become a close second favorite of mine (behind KTP). As far as a podcast strictly about NRS games, this is such an enjoyable listen, and time flies by. I'm actually surprised as to how well PL does as a host. Doesn't attempt to steal the show, and when he does interject, it's super entertaining. Dave keeps things flowing very well with his questions. Overall, I really like the show's structure and how it's very distinguished from the KTP. Things are generally insightful and entertaining. The live format is a very cool feature too.

I enjoy seeing PL more involved with the community. Yeah, he has his bias about certain issues, but he's an asset. Both he and Dave are way more levelheaded on these shows than I would have thought, with the exception of when PL is unfairly blowing a player up (though it's funny as hell) and Dave talking about low gunshots, which, amazingly, he hasn't been doing much of on the past couple of shows.

Good job guys. I really hope you keep this going.

Posting as I'm listening:

Re: 16 Bit's stock market. It's satire. It's meant to be funny. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not speaking for him but I think it's pretty obvious by merely reading them that they're tongue in cheek. I doubt his aim is to regulate or "tell players how they should feel about their placement in a tournament." I think it's a bit hypocritical for us to look forward to the Stock Market so much, DEMAND that he makes one when he doesn't, only to say "don't tell people how they should feel."

As far as playing favorites goes... everyone is biased. I don't understand why people think these should be super objective.

"All this broken tech that most of the community doesn't know about isnt being fixed". Why not share it so that it can get patched lol more people behind it the better imo.

I'm glad someone brought up the Pot Monster issue. I'm not so sure it applies to SCR; but in general, if me, Storms and DevilMaySpy go to a tournament, it's not a better tournament just because there are more people there. All that happens is I get fed to Rico Suave first round, it's a win for him, and he gets to say he beat one more person in pools.

People seem to think that the bigger the tournament is, the harder it is -- but I don't think EVO is pretigious just because it's big; it's because a lot of the best/great players for any game are expected to slow up.

I remember when we had the Dallas MLG for MK9 and there was literally not a name in the bracket that I didn't recognize. Out of 90-some players, almost every one of them was at least a mid-level player, or someone who was studying and knew their character, knew the game, had a scene etc. There was nowhere to hide in the bracket. If 50-60 extra pot monsters had showed up to lose in the first round, it wouldn't have affected the difficulty at all, save for having extra padding.

This and bracketogy are two things that seem to be taboo to talk about :)

I understand what you're saying, but part of the reason huge tournaments like EVO are a big deal is because it's the place someone can make a name for themselves. Some no named online warrior can come out and make top 16 and make a name for him/herself. It's part of the excitement. A top player getting blown up by someone that has been practicing to show what they can do. Excitement.

I heard part of Pig's appearance and I have to say he made a fantastic point about how to grow the scene. If Spike or G4 would have done this I think it would have been successful. Kids love playing and watching others play games. Throw this on at 10 p.m. on a Friday night and it could grow into something. I'm surprised no one has taken that initiative.

Also, why all the hate on P2W? I thought he sounded like a pretty good guy. 16 Bit said he wont make top 8's consistently or something and P2W said that was bullshit and that he can. He was making positive remarks like that the whole time. Some of you should probably re-listen lol.

Like Nightmare SF last Evo? (Despite his misgivings, still got top 16)

Rofl. Unbeknownst to many, Tom and PL and I talk/joke a lot outside of TYM and agree on a lot of things. We may blow each other up here now and then, but the beef was mostly fabrication for enjoyment's sake :p

@CrimsonShadow listen to my segment and get back to me too

Yeah, Final Round has 108 entrants so far and we're missing a lot of key players.

And Jesus Christ, what's with all the shots at the testers? "Look at who Slips is, he's the guy who tested this last patch we got." -- Arma (I don't think he meant that negatively, to be clear). To which P2W replies "So you mean he doesn't want to come off like an idiot?"
Definitely not negative
I was saying that slips did the testing for our last patch and by resume and skill he is naturally a very influential person , but then I never got my point across.

What Playing to win mentioned was NOT what I was suggesting. I didn't laugh or even respond to his reply.

So @AK Pig Of The Hut -- I listened to the end of the broadcast.. Mannn, I have so many feelings about this. I could literally write a book.

I feel like I know what has to be done, and a lot of what it will take to bring things to the next level. But the key element to me is cooperation.

Everybody has to stop fending for themselves, and doing their own operations for peanuts, and come together to pool resources and make a much stronger statement together.

I'm going to avoid writing a 900-word essay here -- but if you are willing to put some weight behind this then we should talk on Skype.

P2W seems like a terrible person in general, or maybe fighting games just brings the worst out of him. No way I would talk to another man (palo) the way he did unless I was ready to take it to a physical level.
