In what was easily the largest, most hype, pop-off filled tournament GGA has ever hosted, @GGA Max emerged as the Grand Champion of Ghost Battle Series # 25!

We had several scenes come out and represent Thursday night: @Zyos graciously picked up @THTB and @FOREVER KING from the Cleaveland area (?). @Fromundaman and several others from the Arcade Legacy scene also made the trek out to Brookfield IL for the night.

The night was filled with great MARQUEE matches:​

- @TheTruth4591 is showing great improvement with his newly minted Batgirl, taking Forever King to the limit, barely loosing a close game 3 via time-out victory.
- Dizzy returned tonight because he heard KI was going to be played and did very well for himself, sending 16 Bit and Pimpimjim to losers on his way to a 5th place finish overall.
- The Kumite in Tennessee Champion Forever King was the favorite to win the tournament by most peoples opinions, but @GGA Slips had other ideas...sending King to losers in winners semi's. Behold, the return..of DEATHSTROKE!

- Forever King was sent to losers where he faced a hungry for revenge @GGA 16 Bit . King had defeated Bit at Kumite, and he wanted that run-back!


And...that pop-off!​

- @GGA Saucy Jack (aka "Complete Meta" for the night) was on a tear the whole evening, plowing his way through winners into the Grand Finals after beating Dizzy and @Heroic_Legacy in great sets. His set against GGA Max in winners, was his finest (and maybe the best ever) Green Arrow performance, whittling Max's Bane to a green pulp. (This will be upload to youtube soon!) This advanced him to fight Slips in Winners Finals:


- After the last Ohioans had been eliminated, it was GGA vs GGA for Winners/Losers/Grand Finals. Saucy Jack was on a tear and was hungry for his first Ghost Battle Series victory. Slips was in losers waiting to play the winner of Max vs 16 Bit in losers finals. See for yourself the conclusion of the most hype local I've been witness to:

I want to personally thank everyone that was a part of this awesome experience; this 25-man local felt more like a regional tournament to me, as a streamer/TO/observer! Thanks for everyone that supported us and tuned into the live stream, as well.​

Even though I went 2-2 and lost both my on stream matches, this was the best GBS yet. Thanks to everyone that came out, made for a great night. Wish I got to play more people but got in a decent number of games with Forever King. @GGA Max voice: Guys, I think Batman might be good.

When you have people from different regions participate and the level of play is highly stacked, doesn't it count as a regional?


Also, does Bane have a mustache in that comic book clip?

I write too much.
Awesome tournament. Even though I got bodied, it was a lot of fun.

Thank you GGA guys for teaching me a whole bunch of stuff, especially on Friday.
Thanks to everyone I played for giving me games.
Thanks to everyone for being awesome (Seriously, I think the only asshole I met during this entire trip was the cashier at our hotel).
Thank you all for the incredibly hype atmosphere.

Special shoutouts to Taco Stop and Tony's for having godlike food.

Also, your arcade is amazing. As much as I love Arcade Legacy, GGA's Arcade was just slightly better (Although I didn't get any pinball... Can't wait until the other building opens!).


I now feel like everyone should stop and play at GGA at least once. Hopefully we'll be able to stop by again sometime.

The joystick was a bat top with no gate, so that could've been it. I had a bunch of issues trying to jump forward and back at times lol.

Really great stuff. Nightwing is a character that can actually eat through Bane's armor... Sometimes. And that fucking b.3. I'm a Bane player but I was rooting for Nightwing until the tournament point, great play.

I laughed my ass off at the calling of "And that is the end of the tournament" during the level 3 MB c.grab. The final tossing onto the ground only does a tiny bit of damage! Absolutely amazing Bane play. Venomed MB b.3 into another b.3, what the fuck man. That blew my mind. Insane corner pressure too.

Great times at GBS. Huge props for the Ohio guys coming out. Awesome to see THTB is a real person. And huge ups to King for coming. The guy just won KIT and likes competing so much that instead of just sitting on his laurels and make everyone suck on his win he came out to just play, practice and get better. It's nice to see a top player not getting wrapped up in drama and just likes to play. Pretty classy and a lesson to everyone that even when winning there is always room to improve. King is the best Batman I've played, he's probably a better player than me as well, but I had some things ready for him.

Thanks for the support from everyone with the character change. He's pretty badass. :)



Me and King's set was cannon btw. ;)
