Speaking of Stryker, someone on Twitter found this little Gem (This is my vid but I didn't originate it). This thing seems to have caveats behind it though (have to hit the full string and also be in their face since the timing is so strict that even if you're not close enough you have to change the grenade call timing slightly or it'll "launch" but I've gotten this in matches as a punish for sure since there's no real crazy timing involved

this probably varies per player but is the mental stack much greater with kham for you? Janet seems so straight forward, you can begin an a 400+ aircombo meterless with just 12xxupTP Janet punch 4 roll and so on. With timing right you can do stuff like this guy:
I personally dont use Khameleon with Mileena. I prefer kung lao for the mixes and hard to blockables. Mileena feels a little too unsafe, you have to commit too much with her strings and mighf get punished for it and Khameleon doesnt help too much with that. I do use Kham a lot with Reptile and Nitara so its not really a question of mental tax.

The whole bit about her 12 being risky against people who can perfect block it really limits her kameo choices. I guess she needs an ambush that’s armored.

does Janet fair better? I think her nut punch can be called in after 12 gets blocked but it’s not armored so I imagine you could stuff it.


Lao is what I used for 6 months, his set up is so good even with the penalties for charging buzz saw. i could see myself going back but I bought both Khameleon and Janet

Your guidance helped but I find it easier to pay attention to when her head falls back instead of her legs during the backwards somersault throw. I notice that’s when the slowdown in the animation of the throw occurs, my headcannon explanation for this is the slowdown in fanlift is stacking with it. It’s probably incorrect but it helps me time it haha

Edit: going by her head is mainly better from 2p side I think 1p side the leg method you suggested is best

2 questions:

1) How should we be using ferra? I can see super meter gain being OP with her, but how should we use the tor stance?

2) how much benefit does she get from the goro buffs?

I havent tested ferra with Mileena yet, but I presume she should use it for mixes. 1 into tor stance into overhead/low - 1,2 canceled on the second or third hit into tor stance for 50/50 - 1 into low sai occasionaly.

2,1 in the air into Ferra NJP for combo extension/damage as well. Tor stance into ferra low toss for a LOW projectile combo starter as well. On paper this pair should heavily rely on mixes for devastating damage.

No idea about Goro, never used him and dont really plan to yet.
 
This is what I've been working on with Terra using her air stance 2 to juggle.

Probably the most practical - I call in Terra with up+kameo just before/as mileena's foot connects on the teleport kick:

Here's a concept I put together but I probably should have ended with fatal blow:

and here's the same vibey, dump all your meter and fatal blow into one combo:

I'm sure I could optimize these better. Tor stance into low toss seems good, especially since it combos from 2,1 kameo 3. Not sure it's a true block string it definitely keeps the combo meter going.

So besides Goro and the new obscene damage he does who else you guys think viable options for her now.

Previously people used mostly,
Kung Lao
Khamelon
Scorpion
Sektor

I use mavado alot with her aswell after Kung Lao who id use most of the time with her

But besides sektor getting much more improved so he going up the options list who else we thinking ?

Janet does functionally the same as Mavado, without the health deficit
 
One random thing I noticed practicing the ferra combos in this video:

You can hold back after a dash and input 2,1 at any time to get you the neutral 2, 1 string. This allows for extra precise spacing when doing the pickup into ball. I’m still working on it, due to consistency I occasionally sub in f1 ballroll for the relaunch instead of dash 21 ballroll for the Ferra combos I linked.

The other thing I noticed is when doing the f3,4 up+kameo 4 microdash 2,1 roll j22 ballroll combo, it made sense to time out the first four presses street fighter style. So f3, slight pause, 4 immediate up+kameo, and then 2 just as ferra latches. I think it adds stability to time the first 4 presses this way.

Yes, upon further inspection the can differ quite a lot, however both still function nigh-identically if you only want combo extensions or comboing from an EX low sai (which is what my monkey brain uses when picking these chars lol)
 
Apparently if Lao hat and ballroll hit at once, there’s no launch and the damage scaling also gets lowered so regular combos rack up massive damage:



Edit: I also copped this simple ambush ferra combo from Hourglass of Rain who streamed it 6 days ago. He doesn’t explain why but my explanation for him using a f2, 4 kameo is because f2,4 ends in a low/can be thrown out at range and is hard to stuff. Note you have to dial up f2,4 Kameo in one go for it to come out.
