I dunno. MvCi has crazy flashy moves. At first you're like "wow that's awesome!", then after seeing it a thousand times in a set, it gets stale just as fast.
That's true, but I still think that for Injustice 3 if they choose to do it, they should go for much flashier and more personality portraying moves and combos. I personally am cool with Injustice looking the way it is, but it does look like to people with powers fighting, rather than super snart, high tech, massive Juggernauts fighting. Maybe they should add more moves from the movies to appeal to fans that watch them. Maybe make them look more aggressive and powerful. I mean, look at Alien from MKX. He wasn't balanced, but he sure as hell was fun to play with and watch in Tournament (excluding Tarkatan rekkas). Same with Predator. He was jumping all over the place, throwing discs and shooting plasma orbs, etc. His combos looked phenomenal if you put work into doing them. Same with Quan Chi. Injustice 1 Green Lantern. MK9 Kratos. These characters were flashy and great to watch fight. Right now we do have Starfire, who does animate beautifully and has vivid things to look at. Same with Brainiac. Flash. Super Girl to some extent. I just feel like they should up the cinematic experience a little more for people who are watching the game and might wanna buy it.

I WILL EAT THIS GAME
They've proven they can, for the most part, balance a game.
But it turns out balanced NRS style games can get stale really fast.

I miss the threat of the old stages like Watchtower and Metropolis.
I don't understand how getting rid of the nutty amounts of armor over the games turned into getting rid of loads of meterless launches/combo extenders. Too many flowcharts look almost the same.

There's no element of chaos.
That pendulum that swings both ways; that, while part of you is glad one end of the board (improvement in balance over the years) has been dealt with, it's now given rise to a completely different issue - that, in my opinion, while the game can be exciting as fuck from a spectator's standpoint (especially since production value is through the roof now because ESports) and the competition itself has provided hype tournament after hype tournament...from the grinding perspective, the view of the players and competitors who have to sink hours, days, blood, rage, and crumbles of one's soul into that grind in order to succeed...well, this game tends to be as repetitive as watching the same half hour of porn over and over, or eating nothing but turkey for a year. Outside of the excitement of having that rotation of homies to fight and improve with, you're boned. The cosmetics and gear are a lie. Special Abilities are pointless. Shaders are a Ponzi scheme. There's no good in game loot or credit to root through that lead to anything other than "ooh, look at my shiny new Wrist Cannons."

This game's grind is exceedingly more rewarding for casuals than competitors, which is really confusing since you'd think you'd want to at least whip up something we can make fire with. The ultimate "what the hell is going on" kick in the junk was the Legendary Universes. "Do this giant amount of shit for a reward that will mean absolutely nothing beyond the aesthetic online and precisely dick offline." Because it's not that I don't like them; I LOVE the idea because it's MKDA Konquest on steroids: pick your character, get to know each other, and prepare to fight your way through actual DC hell. And that's amazing. But then you finish and you get your gearpiece and new move, but you're like "oh yeah...not tournament legal."
But going back the other way, if that WAS the purpose of Legendary Universes, to give your character a whole new ability, it'd then fall upon TO's to have them all unlocked, which would probably be fuck all impossible. No matter what you do, you're stuck. It's unfortunate but understandable because only an iiiiitty bitty portion of the buyer base is competitive, but...fuck.

At this point, I just feel like there's no way to really please anyone. I don't agree either personally because Beetle and Cheetah play like one would expect them to play lore wise and are fun. Regardless of fighting game, you're gonna get characters that don't live up to your vision. I do wish NRS hadn't done gear moves at all though because it just gives people something to long for or insist the game feels incomplete as a result. These feelings would not exist other wise. Game doesn't feel stale to me, I think the variety is great. Copy paste and lazy things like Raiden not withstanding.

I totally want them to go a bit more wild with things, cuz yeah it's a comic game. Even visually the game is super muted & doesn't feel like it should.

Also man I wish they went a bit more ham with Sub-Zero & Raiden. Some characters like Black Manta, Scarecrow, Supes do it very well but other characters feel super reserved like GL.

We all claim to want balance, bitch about are characters being bad/underpowered, claim to hate over patching, and all that..well thats not the only reason, but a huge factor in why this game is fading.

Casualz=drops game after getting favorite gear set/learned half a corner combo/bought just for gear and story mode

Tryhardz=me and every other online warrior/ join clans/tries to break into the top 25 in the world off/and online but fails

Gods= people we all want to be (time and richest understanding of the meta/readz for dayz/frame data mastery/optimized for days/ability to travel)

A very small portion of even the most serious online warriors(tryhardz) will ever amount to anything, we all know this as we seek balance with loud fits of rage on forums(because whats holding us back cant be us???)....when in reality we will always find and excuse for why we lose..... !! Casuals rage about level 1 meta and quit...
And that leaves us with the Godz..... The only ones who shouldnt want a balance patch/new moves/anything to shake up what they have worked so hard to master, and this all leads me to this point.(with the exception of a few special snow flakes you've never heard of who think there at GODZ status)

What i'm getting to is very important, Tryhards the ones who play to dream of being something, live off these patchs to shake it up like the lottery, we dont realize we ARE PLAYING FOR FUN<<<<(this is a curse word in are community[haha!! U a causal son!!!lmao!!])I dont care what anyone says unless you know your characters getting nerfed, you want that 10 page patch killer. Because you want to have
FUN

BECAUSE DEEP DOWN U LOVE THIS SHIT MAN

I SAY BALANCE GEAR MOVES BEST U CAN AND LETZ GO!!
EVEN IF MY CHARACTER ENDS UP BOTTOM TIER
I WANT FRESH TOYZ BECAUSE I WILL NEVER WIN MONEY LIKE THOS 12 PEOPLE
LET THEM ADEPT
LETS BE SELFISH
We forget why we buy fighting games sometimes, im so proud of whats going on in eleague!!! Im a dreamer man we all are, but we made are purchase as FIGHTING GAME FANS,NRS FANS, to have fucking FUN

My names Ns_Brutalmileena Im a serious online threat, and will probably never WIN MONEY, but I play this game ultimately to have FUN

That doesn't mean i want to play a fighting game with rpg stats and shit give me a fucking move set with interesting new age wayz to brawl!!!!!!

For the <<<(you dont have to play competitive mode fuck boyz)) are game is on deaths door, if you want to keep pretending your going to win money one day lol, we need to add fun changes in are COMPETITIVE SCENE CLEARLY

I wouldn't mind seeing some wilder stuff. Overall I think Injustice 2 is at a pretty good spot on the FGC Wildness Spectrum, but there's always room for improvement.

Two things I'd like to see:

1. More creativitey in terms of Trait. Traits are a great way to let the characters powers shine through, and I think it's a letdown creatively when a character's trait is just a simply damage buff.

2. More individuality in how the characters animate or attack. Most characters punch and kick the same way, it'd be nice to see the characters fight a bit more in line with their own background/makeup.

Very much this. If you can conceal who's playing and that results in one being unable to accurately guess who's playing you're probably watching something that values style over substance and/or there's no way to really impart your own style into a character. I think, in that sense, that Injustice does pretty well. With characters that are popular enough to have a decent volume of high level representation I feel like you can get a pretty good feel for who's playing without knowing who's playing.

Yes, exactly this! I feel most strongly about this when it comes to traits. I feel like traits are a very Injusticey thing, and they should try and capitalise on it. The traits should be a bit crazy, and, most importantly, fun! There should be at, the very least, that brief moment where you're like "yo, now this is mother fucking Raiden" instead of "oh, now his hands are a bit more lightningy"

And there are people still complaining about the variation system... Gear system is only a loot like system that only works as a milking machine... with abilities that You can't use in competitive mode... Now that is a joke of a system... LMAO.

Yeah, traits are really where they dropped the ball. Most traits are very vanilla (damage buff, new move). Traits really could have been something special. KI, while some of their Instincts are very simple, definitely ups the stakes. I would have liked to have seen more creativity there.

I actually think a geared up tournament could be interesting to see. Stat bonuses, gear moves, the whole thing. Not as a part of any pro series or ranking, but just a chance to let players gear up their characters as much as possible, and see what happens when they go at it.

I think it would help to start by looking at what types of traits there are to see were one could get more creative without completely breaking the game. I would say that the game, broadly speaking, has:
  1. Stat/move boosting/modifying
  2. Summoning
  3. Additional Attack(s)
  4. Additional Special Move
First Category: Bane, Cheetah, Deadshot, Dr. Fate, Firestorm, Gorilla Grodd, Green Arrow, Green Lantern,
Joker, Superman, Wonder Woman

Second Category: Atrocitus, Batman, Braniac, Cyborg, Darkseid, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, Robin, Sub-Zero

Third Category: Black Canary, Catwoman, Red Hood, Starfire, Supergirl

Fourth Category: Aquaman, Black Adam, Blue Beetle, Captain Cold, The Flash, Scarecrow, Swamp Thing

Probably the narrowest distinction I'm making is between the third and fourth categories where the separation I'm looking at is: If I activate trait in neutral what happens? If I get an attack that might hit my opponent -> 3 else -> 4. At this point (whether you agree with my breakdown or not) I would say that the category 1 traits have the widest range in quality/utility as while some of the characters in other categories are of suspect quality none really stand out to me as being suspect entirely due to their trait sucking.

I would say that if one were looking to spice things up a notch or two that tweaking the category 1 and 3 traits (IMO the least interesting types of traits) would be a good place to start.
